Deck Description

This deck focuses on using buried alive to get expensive creatures out fast. The ideal situation is:
Turn 1-Swamp, Dark Ritual, Buried Alive (bury sharuum, sovereign and magister)
Turn 2-Swamp, Exhume Sharuum, bringing Magister into play (opponent has 10 life)
Turn 3-Swing with Sharuum and Magister for 10, you win!

This comes in the starting hand 7% of the time if you go first and 10% of the time if you go second.
Use the Imp to discard any creatures you have.

I like it a lot. You have m thinking of ways to turn it to a multiplayer advantage. Maybe Minion Reflector?

good idea, thanks for the advice living death looks good. Minion reflector would be good as well, the only problem with those two is that i would hope to already have won (or close too). I might sideboard them both though.

Very nice deck man, this is very similar to my B/U control deck that uses buried alive and zombify to get nice control cards like woe, visara, lacquatas champion and others. I thinks yours is a lot faster and I love how your using Sharuum to help you bring even another artifact into play that will own. Nice build!! +1

hey my man, this looks like avery tasty deck indeed, depending on what format you r going for here i have several suggestions to help u out. the easiest way to help a combo deck like this is with search cards, the ones u could use in here would be: demonic tutor, vampiric tutor, Dimir Machinations, and Beseech the Queen. any of these will increase the chances of ur combo going off much faster. i love the use of duress in here, its always good to have some protection from pesky control decks. if u find u need any more easy black protection cards Thoughtseize is an excellent card to throw in. if i were u i would increase the number if Sharuum the Hegemons in here, it is your best bet for an easy win, to achieve this i would take out the non artifact creatures. in combo decks i also find that cycling Street Wraith helps move through the deck a lil quicker and helps a lot with consistancy. the same can be said for the fetch lands that let u get the extra swamps out of the way and have a better chance of drawing what u need. but these r just some minor changes to the flow of the deck, its a very good concept, nice job

Thanks for the great advice dknight27, didnt know about beseech the queen, or street wraith great cards! What do you think about adding the sovereign as another artifact creature i can grab/reanimate? I would add sphinx of the steel wind, but he is expensive. I know i could add other artifact creatures, but I like the flying (and the flavor :D) of the sphinxes.
Thank you all for your help!

The problem with Reanimator is that you can run out of gas really quick and your threats can see easy answers. Swords to Plowshares and blue bounce effects murder decks with Reanimate effects. Honestly, do you need to have the most cool looking or biggest creatures to win? Not really. A turn 1 Akroma, Angel of Fury pretty much wins the game for you. My line up of creatures would include: Akroma, Angel of Fury (Has Pro-Blue Pro-White which is the best), Akroma, Angel of Wrath, theres a guy out of Ravnica that makes it so creatures cant attack you unless they have flying and he is pretty beafy himself, 1 Angel of Despair for spot removal. Thats what I would run, that way you have an answer for really any situation coming up. You only need 1 of all your Reanimate targets, you honestly pretty much have the game wrapped up once one hits the board and they cant get rid of it. Your reanimate targets should be things that win you the game without any kind of lee way given. You have Duress in here which is AMAZING. The Putrid Imp is a good idea but you also dont have any form of creature removal, Sickening Dreams works well with this deck because it clears the board and lets you drop cards from your hand for nearly nothing. Your also forgetting an amazing card that just got Unbanned in Legacy and Unrestricted in Vintage... Entomb. Seriously, you HAVE to play Entomb. Its just amazingly stupid. Street Wrath isnt really necessary, there are better ways you can draw cards out there. For the sideboard, I would put more creatures that help in various situations. The Archangel out of Shards of Alara for Sligh and Aggro decks, etc etc. Im sure there are other creatures you can think of... pry about 4 in sideboard for good measures all for different situations. Looks good though, like it!

I dont play entomb because it is expensive (money-wise), otherwise I would for sure. Also, entomb doesnt let me put sharuum and magister back into play. While I agree that Angel of Fury is a great card, it is only one creature, with the sphinxes I have two 5/5 fliers out, and my opponents life is at 10. Even if they bounce one, I have a major threat on the board (also, I have bigger things to worry about with MUC, they could simply counter). I agree I need creature removal, but i am currently unsure what to remove, I have been sideboarding doom blade when I play against heavy creature decks (goblins, elves, etc) but i dont know what else to replace.
Thanks for the advice though!

You asked, I told. All I am going to say, take it or leave it. Entomb does not bring your creature back, it puts it the Graveyard. There is NO reason beyond monitary value not to run Entomb, also, you can pry pick up a playset on Ebay really cheap if you look for them. Axe Street Wraith for removal. I would play Smother or Diabolic Edict depending on the enviroment and then in sideboard play Engineered Plague if its a creature theme enviroment around a certain type or play Perish if its a large mixture of it all.

Haha, wow, perish is a mean, mean card. Thats awesome. I think I agree with you on the removal actually, after having playtested it some more, I find that the creature control would probably be more helpful than street wraith. Thanks for your comments, good advice.

Your welcome, you could even play Sickening Dreams because it helps you get rid of creatures and discards the creatures in your hand aswell.

The Ravnica creature that prevents opponents from attacking is called "Blazing Archon". I have him in my reanimator.

I use "Looter il-Kor" for my drawing and discard into the graveyard, helps me cycle through my deck for those longer games - Sift works well for this too. Of course my deck is obviously a hybrid B/U.

sweet deck

but i would switch out a few beseech the queens for a few tutors (vampiric, demonic, etc.),
i would also switch out doomblade for smothers (cause its better for fast decks)
and i would add pithing needle to the sideboard (you know to stop crypt & relic).

and i would also add some B / R lands, like badlands or blood crypts, so you can add anger (gives your guys haste).

maybe add serum powder? idk

haha, I've been playing this on MWS and if you add entomb, its quite possible to have a turn 2 win! all you need to draw is a swamp, a dark ritual, 2 entombs and any of the reanimate cards... fun stuff for sure. Getting the 2 sphinxs out on turn one is simply PRICELESS.
