Deck Description

a Garruk deck basd on a few observations I noted in a discussion on mtgsalvation forums. I saw quite a few things in their discussions, and here's, in short, what I think about the new garruk.

-------------------------------------
READ BEFORE YOU JUDGE: This deck is a simple 9x with a slight modification. 9x means 9 cards, 4x each, 24 lands. As i have ramp, I can drop down to 22/23 lands, but I'll call it 23 to be safe, and instead run 3 3x, and 7 4x. Essentially, a went 1 less on my weaker / later game creatures, to play 3x Acidic Slime.
SB - battlement is iffy for siding in against aggro, tec edge for valakut, beast within with decks revolving around a single card, or crap like gideon, and extraction is for combo decks like valakut and splinter twin.
--------------------------------------

I think garruk shouldn't be ramped into, as it's normally pointless.
I think he can be very good, and probably has untapped potential.
I think CA isn't always what green wants, and if wants it, it plays blue.
I think his +1 is more of a threat / pseudo-protection than it is a protection / pseudo-threat.
I think people underestimate his ultimate

Also, I think he should be played in one of 4 decks, and possibly others, as he's not some green cards that you just shove into any deck that plays green. The decks I think he shines in that I've seen are the following:
Stompy
Dredge-Vine
UW Defender
GB graveyard

--------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
The general idea of the deck is to drop big things fast, t2 garruk's companion is still powerful, and t2 leatherback baloth is even better. After you've dropped big guys, refresh your hand / drop vengevines in the graveyard with CA from Garruk.
