Deck Description

Conceptual test.

Essentiallly I'm trying to see how well cards with the ability, "play with the top card of your library revealed" can stack up and work together.

To be honest, that combo is simply one of many. Most of these cards have good synergy anyways, meaning that I can generally draw into whatever I need as well as having plenty of mana to do so. Vampire Nocturnus + Painter's Servant is one of my favorite combos, but is far from all that are in here.

another card that lets you take advantage of knowing what the next card is is conundrum sphinx.

no problem. you might also want to consider worldly tutor and liliana vess (or any other card that puts a card on top of your library)

This is a neat concept and seems like a really fun deck to play. My main concern is that you are not focusing as much as you could and that your mana curve is kinda high. I am worried that by the time you are able to start pulling off some of these tricks that your opponent will be to far ahead. A lot of your creatures are simply too expensive and you don' have an early mana acceleration other than Dark Ritual.

I also think that Xenograft and Coat of arms are way to much effort for the pay off and are there mostly just to trigger Kinship.

Ego erasure also seems pretty weak considering you are running black.

I will think on this concept and if I come up with anything I will come back and let you know.

I have a suggestion for you to look into. This deck makes me think of a Counter Balance and Sensei's Divining Top deck. It uses Divining top to rearrange the top of your library to whatever you need it to be. This same mechanic could prove useful for this deck.

Either way good luck with the deck and I may come back with some suggestions later.

Xenograft is actually there mostly for Vampire Nocturnus, but im not sure if thats actually worth it or not yet... Same with Coat of Arms. Ego Erasure is mostly there to deal with opponents benefitting from Coat of Arms... Again, I'm not sure how effective that is...

Oh yeah I forgot about Nocturnus. Ego Erasure makes more sense now that I understand how you are using it.

Either way I still worry that this deck will take too long to get set up.

You may actually consider dropping black completely and put in some more mana efficient creatures to keep you going the first few turns. Soon I am going to play around with this deck ideal and see what I can come up with. I will give you an update if I figure anything else out.

HI There, i love this concept. i had a deck very similar to this .. however the guy above is right.. you should drop black completly and what i did for mana curve was add Recross the paths.. purely because it allows you to put a card at the top or bottom of your deck once you have clashed with an opponent.

Also i would have atleast 1 Sensei in the main deck.. to speed up the combo.. Also if you drop black completly and Xenograft i personally would add a couple more protection black or whatever creatures since you have 4 painter's servants... maybe add 2 Painter's and 2 Shifting sky.. Since Painter will become number one target and is easier to destroy than Shifting.

You might need to think about extra draw as well since 2 ponders won't cut it... maybe add Jace beleren and/or Garruk to untap lands. or Llanowar Empath

Another thought Add Game preserve to combo with every card you have just for complete fun :)
