Awesome deck (both yours and his), but I do have few concerns/suggestions. Firstly, most of the cards in this deck have high CMC, so I think you may need more mana ramp in addition to Rampant Growth and Safewright Quest. A card I would suggest is Explore, which allows you to play an additional land and draw a card. I would suggest replacing 2 Planar Cleansing and 1 Phyrexian Rebirth with 3 Explores since you already have enough field-wipes in the deck :)Otherwise, good stuff XD

Don't forget that I have Darksteel Ignot for some ramp as well...I added in explore and took our Rampant Growth completely. See if you like this version, and thanks for the suggestion!

I always love having stuffy doll in a deck. Combine with pariah shield or pariah, and anytime your opponent attacks you, you can redirect it back.
