Deck Description

Wurm deck. This is another deck that is designed in a more "subdued" fashion, so that I have a few to use on newer/more casual players. Had to put in Tempting Wurm...I never got to use it in any of my Stompy decks, so I needed to give it a deck.

Tell me what you think! =]

gaea's cradle what a top choice !, and semblance anvil makes this a bit more speedy perfect for wurms that always seem 1 to much another good call,

temple wurm is a big risk dude but lots of fun, a lot of your cards revolve around huge creature numbers you have lots of elves but after that not huge creature numbers maybe jorga warcaller is a beeter option than the coat of arms, as he'll just target your elves, i mean your wurms are big enough, also, i'd find it hard not to run garruck for his untapping of lands and overun abillitys, good solid deck though man.

if you can check my spell bomb deck and other newbies - cheers.

Tempting wurm seems awful...why is it in here? am i missing something?

The things that I put down are very likely going to be WAY bigger than whatever they can put down. Not only that, but I can choose to play it later game to drop a few big dudes and my opponents will only be able to play like...1-2 wimpy things.

Also, this is geared to be "nicer" than some of my other decks, so letting newer players dump stuff out for free works for that too. =]

You might want to re-read Tempting Wurm..... Only your OPPONENTS get to put things into play. You do not.

I know...I think my post was worded poorly. I think I accidentally made it sound like Tempting Wurm is like a Hypergenesis, and it's not. =/

Actually, I think the Tempting Wurm card is poorly worded. It says "each opponent" which can be plausibly be interpreted differently from "each of YOUR opponents" or "each OTHER opponent" or "each other player." I mean, I would make the argument that I am AN opponent...just not my own (unless I'm playing a suicide black deck).

Anyway, from a lingusitic standpoint, "each opponent" does not exclude you...My opponent(s) must also have an opponent by default, I should think. So if I'm not my opponent's opponent (in a 2-palyer game), then who is?

But I'm sure no one here cares about any of this...

Very "nice" deck...compared to your usual work.

Nice looking deck, what tossing in a Lure for your Engulfing Slagwurm hell, even a Asceticism or both. I completely forgot about the Tempting Wurm, I think it would be great for a green and blue deck let them play something good or bad from there hand then just gain control of it, I find Boldwyr Heavyweights is great for this too, let them search then Control Magic.

i always love Tempting Wurm and then some form of mass removal, aka Wrath, Planar Cleansing,Soulscour, or world purge!
Of course you would have to splash some major white so maybe not.

Right, and remember, this is supposed to be a "nice(er)" deck...The classic Damn Tempting combo (an old B/G control deck used it) is just too mean to do.

How about a Roaring Slagwurm in your sideboard would crush artifact deck, it's kinda nice(er).....kinda?

I agree with the above comment regarding Lure (or Nemesis Mask) for Engulfing Slagwurm and Wurmcoil Engine.. It's not too OP for new players to face, as opposed to some of the fun stuff you can do with Tempting Wurm. And hey.. what better way to learn the fine art of removal than giving them something really intimidating to remove ;)

I'm kinda sore that I hadn't thought of that sooner.. I just sold my set of Wurmcoil Engines for gas money for college :(

Also, Coat of Arms is a curious choice for this deck. IMO, replace it with Momentous Fall for some really sweet Pelakka Wurm shenanigans.

Coat of Arms = Nice

Lure on Engulfing Slagwurm isn't nice! Good lord you guys have some sadistic translations of "nice" XD

"FirstER Strike" on something that's lured is just a massacre (must say I really like that idea...), and on Wurmcoil...I'll admit it is a very humorous thought, is also really mean.

Oh, it is definitely very mean :P I just meant, not completely overpowered for new players to handle. Every color except red should have plenty enough access to relevant forms of removal to counter it.

You can't call this a wurm deck when you hardly have any different wurms in it and decide to throw in nonwurms.

So by that logic...Eldrazi Green is just a green deck, and Tribal is just a word...

The creature-type majority is Wurm, so by definition, it is a Wurm deck. But, if you wish to make a "Wurm deck" that follows your rigid rules (no non-wurms 'thrown in')...by all means. =]

Well, Tribal /is/ just a word :P

More importantly, the win condition is wurms; therefore it is a wurm deck. It doesn't matter if the majority of the creatures are wurms or not, it matters if the majority of the cards facilitate a victory through wurms. You can't expect the man to wait until he has enough lands to cast a wurm spell, it wouldn't be until turn 10 or so (because you won't draw 6-7 lands until then) that he'd have anything in play. All of the non-wurm cards in this deck are mana ramp to be able to quickly cast wurms, or buff spells.

ffs man, did you even look at the deck, or did you just look at how many cards had the word "wurm" in their title? (Also, I'm sick of typing the word "wurm" now)
