Deck Description

A Boros soldier deck. Still tweaking it... it's just not fast enough right now, and I'm limited by not having some of the cards I want (Aurelia's Fury, more Aurelia Warleaders and Gideons).

How to Play

The idea is to hopefully hold off an opponent long enough to allow the Assemble the Legions to start turning out soldiers. The Angelic Overseers are nice, because they give opponents a hexproof indestructible threat to work around. It just doesn't seem to be fast enough right now. I have had other variants of this deck.... one had the full suite of Angelic Overseers and no Aurelia or Gideon. Obviously, this deck would be better with Boros Reckoners or Frontline Medics, but they are just too $$$ right now, and I'd like to try and find some options using what I have.

Suggestions are desired, and welcome!

Deck discussion for Military Intervention

Type your deck name...Looking for help with the sideboard for sure. Also, would like ideas on something to pump my soldiers other than Break of Day (go back to the Captains of the Watch? other ideas?), and looking for some other cards to put in.

Hey, I have quite a few comments for your deck if your interested, so heres a few i jotted down.
A really nice boost in my opinion is rally the peasants, as it gives +2/+0 for for your first strike and double strike guys, and then it also has a flashback for the same low 3 mana cost.
Also i do not find a few of the cards such as captain's call and divine reckoning to be worth the slots they take in your deck. I would instead pursue some quick red threats to the deck (seeing how you have an equal red/white distribution in your lands but not your cards) such as hell rider, ash zealot, or something similar.
Something you might try is Cathar's Crusade with Assemble the Legion because they work great together.
If you really want to make your deck fast, then i suggest scraping the Assemble the Legion deck idea all together and going more for the quick 1,2, and 3 drops like Boros Elite. AtL just takes way too long to become really useful in competitive play.
A good way to get some cards you would want is probably to buy the event deck for boros because its understandably priced and works just fine on its own.
Finally, (as generic as can be) if you want to see a boros deck for reference I have a link to mine. Hope this helps:

Thanks! I was wondering about the Captina's Call... it fits flavour-wise, but is too damn expensive. Same as Captain of the Watch... in theory, it look slike it would be awesome in a deck like this, but its casting cost is absurd. I hadn't thought about Rally.... I kept thinking in terms of Soldiers, not Humans. Good call. I like the Hellrider and Zealot idea, and the Zealot is human, so it would benefit from the Rally. I need more Cathar's Crusdae... I only have one. I agree, that would be a nice add.

I'll have to see if I can drum up an event deck for Boros.

Thanks for the tips!
