I thought about it--triggers champion and allies, but was still a little underwhelming for a 4-drop. The lifgain aspect is a little moot with Ondu Cleric. He'd be better here if there was a little ramp, but that'd be a different deck.
Mimic vat may be good; make an ally every turn, or take an opponent's dead creature.
