A small edit to a deck I've liked since it's inception back in 2012. You may be thinking, hey this is almost a carbon copy of that deck. And you'd be right. However I believe the small changes I've made increase the overall effectiveness of the deck. **Change 1: Adding 4 River Boa**. The move here to not include Wolfir Avenger comes with a cheaper body, cheaper regen cost, and evasion and the cost of flash. A T2 Boa against a control deck helps put pressure on them since they can't block it, plus it bodies a lot of big non-evasion threats that don't have Trample. Plus we're so greedy in our mana that to have more two drops helps us play on curve more often.**Change 2: Adding 4 Avatar of the Resolute**. Not adding Mayor of Avabruck gives the deck some much needed synergy since A you cant reliably flip him, and B his human side is useless in this deck with 0 humans. With 12 cards giving themselves +1/+1 counters Avatar comes down as a massive beater, with not only two fantastic keywords in Trample and Reach but providing a much needed consistent synergy Mayor can't provide.**Change 3: Adding 2 Blossoming Defense**. Do you hate when your opponent bounces your minions? Do you hate when they Path your Predator Ooze whose just trying to live his life? Do you need some extra fire power to go in for the kill but also don't want to lose your creature to an untimely bolt? Say no more and say hello to Blossoming Defense. For only 1 green mana and instant speed, and hexproof it's an aggros best friend! Get yours today!**Change 4: Adding 4 Nurturing Peatland**. Green suffers from draw spells. And in a deck that is low to the ground and one goal in mind it needs to get it from somewhere. Peatlands are good way to shore this up. It comes with the added benefit of making us "gain" 2 life if we need to hard cast a DismemberI kept Blazing Torch for the same reason, 2 mana deal 2 to anything is amazing when you either don't have a fight spell or both your undying creatures have already been triggered and you don't want to risk a death touch minion slowing you down.Garruk stayed because he fights, but also makes 2/2 wolf's which just add up over time.And the rest of the deck stayed the same. _I'm still working on a SB, no paper magic hasn't given me any time to theory craft as of now._ Thanks for reading!**SB Theory Craft---****4 Veil of Summer**: Mono Green sadly falls of blue effects, and it's a bummer if our bigger threats get countered, or Dismember shows up for ooze. **3 Damping Sphere**: God I hate Tron. Plus is slows down combo decks.** 3 Dismember**: A much needed addition as there are some cards I simple won't be able to beat over. **3 Scavenging Ooze**: Generically great card against Dredge, snapcaster, fringe reanimate decks, solid mini Predator Ooze.**2 Deglamer**: With Heliod decks on the rise and staying put, we need a way to interact with their Heliods. Plus removing other pesky enchantments and artifacts is also a plus. _**The Maybe Board**_**2-4 Bramblecrush**: 4 mana removal for anything but creatures is pretty solid, plus the only "good" mono green spell green will probably ever have access to more removal it'll be brought in **2 Force of Vigor**: Solid solid removal at instant speed, however if I find Heliod is more likely than anything else it will stay in the maybe board. --------------Deck Update 4/27/21 Out: 4 Prey Upon MB 4 Snow-Covered Forest MB3 Rancor SB 2 Aspect of Hydra MBIn: 4 Blizzard Brawl MB4 Nurturing Peatland MB3 Dismember SB2 Blossoming Defense MBSo the reason for this change was to give some more protection in the form of Blossoming Defense, a much better Prey Upon in Blizzard Brawl to not only be a fight spell, but give some indestructible to creatures to survive more fights, and bolstering my SB for matchups where bigger minions are threatening.
Deck is straight forward and has two lines of play.In aggro matchups, just play on curve and go face. Your guys come back and dodge removal. Goblin Guide? Gets bodied twice by 1 Young Wolf. Bolts, Push, Terminates, etc all temporary remove our threats but not completely. In other matchups fight is the place, remove whatever small minions are giving you issues and then push forward as the deck intends.
