As a new player to MTG, the landfall effect stood out as a fun and exciting. With OotGW I have advanced it a bit more about "the land and it's creatures will crush you".
A strong first hand would be: leopard, advocate/sliderunner, forest, uprise, Evo wilds,mountain. Using the uprise for defence smashing mostly and be proactive on attacking with all landfall creatures. If you need more removal, void and aggregation are great cards to take care of those. Eldrazi scions are a big pain so boiling them is best. Should you need more chance for the right card titan's scrying affect can be better than brute strengths trample and not loose the power.
