Looks pretty good to me. Maybe take out 4 mountains for 4 smoldering spires?

I thought of peaks but it comes into play tapped and i want mana fast and win fast.

I have a few cards I'd suggest
Pyromancer's Ascension; Quest for pureflame; Zektar Shrine Expedition; Fling; Zalakut(Land); and I agree on the smoldering spires.

Zalakut takes too long and by the time it works I won't need it at all.

Hell's Thunder maybe and lose the Dragon lord and forked bolts in favor of some burst lightning and maybe the Zektar shrine. Valakut, in my experience, is terrible for a rush deck like this. You should be able to throw out anything for only 3 mountains. Pyretic ritual offers a turn two ball lightning. Teetering peaks can add in a bit more firepower as well.

Not hell's thunder, its basically -2 attack ball, and a +1 attack for one more mana, and its unearth cost is awful!

One of the problems with your feedback: Your telling me what to put in but not what to take out for it. Dragon lord was a maybe from the beginning and I agree that it should be out, but is there anything else that is unecessary?

Forked bolt is a terrible card when you factor in it's sorcery speed. you want fast than you need burst lightning. if you somehow have mana to burn you can double it too. Maybe not Fire heart since he's slow burn not fast burn. Not saying you have to but IF you take out kiln fiend it would relieve alot of stress when playing him. He's good but not that good. a simple bolt shuts him up and after you spend so long pumping him its kinda dumb. pyroclasm does NOT need to be mainboarded. Sideboard the shit out of that card especially when it kills all your own.

There, I opened up 13 card slots potentially.

Fireservant costs 5 mana. Mana games I don't get that much. By turn 5 I hope to have my opponent to less than 5 health, and I almost always have done that with this deck. While its a good card and doubles my damage, its just too slow and not worth it, as they are quicker cards I can place in there.

Magma pheonix, with its 5 mana, is in there because its my favorite red card, not because its a good, quick, damager. I also like its reusable pyroclasm. Basically its a last resort card in case my deck goes past turn 8-9 and my opponent still has high health. I don't need more than 2 last resorts.

Try some spark elementals, just as good as hellspark, not saying replace hellspark, but maybe a side board, you never know how epic trample cards could be

Like my deck :P

I have no spark elementals myself so I can't playtest that card, but i know some people in my playgroup do so I will try to get them to playtest. For now I will sideboard it.

I'd suggest Banefire over Obsidian Fireheart, IMO.

Banefire requires like at least 5 mana to be any good. Obsidian needs 4, and I also have no banefires sadly T_T If I get any banefires though I will try it out!

So I just one my last game with this:

Turn 1: Mountain, Lightning bolt on player
Turn 2: Mountain, Forked bolt on loam lion and player
Turn 3: Mountain, Ball Lightning, 6 damage.
Turn 4: Mountain, Pyroclasm kills 3 spirit tokens
Turn 5: Mountain, Ball Lightning + Fling.

It was a very fun game.

Assault Strobe on any Elemental with trample will hurt very very badly, especially on a big boy.

In the game above (if you had the cards)
Turn 3: Assault Strobe on Ball Lightning + Fling = win.

To this I agree whole heartedly. Play test Assault strobe and let us know if it works.

Although you wouldn't get to do that on turn three. You can assault strobe a ball on turn four... double striking ball. and fling though, that requires more mana.

Chandra's Spitfire works great with Obsidian fireheart, might want to replace Kiln Fiends with them tbh.

0

Chandra's Spitfire was one of the first cards I considered. In fact I playtested with 2, and I have found I did better with Kiln Fiends than Spitfire. While it is a great combo with Fireheart, I am taking fireheart out and I do have a few sorcery's and instants that don't do damage. Plus, kiln fiend is cheaper :P

FIRST DECK TO MAKE POPULAR!!! YAY!!!

Now to the purpose of this post. After much thought:

Obisidian Fireheart: Way too slow. I'm taking it out as for it too work...its just too long. I have yet to win because of it, and I have only one game I have won with it on the field. When it comes down to it, there are much more cards that do better.

And after playtesting 2 assault strobe...well I only got one game when I got both ball lightning and an assault strobe but when I did I won basically almost immidietely.

So: Obsidian Fireheart is out, 2 assault strobe are in.

Congrats!

Good call on the Assault Strobe too! What about Magma Phoenix? If Obsidian Fireheart was too slow, then wouldn't Magma Phoenix be the same?

You know, it might be, but I haven't run into the problem yet and I have won 2 games because i lightning bolted it and cleared the field so i didn't get overrun with a swarm of tokens. It may end up being a sideboard card.

Well, if you sideboard it maybe drop assault strobe in it's place and run 4 of them? Or maybe chandra's spitfire... Those pesky fliers can be quite annoying :-)

Also, I already asked, and if you weren't planning on it that's fine, but would you mind taking a look at my deck? It's fast like this one.

Magma Phoenix and Koth of the Hammer arnt good fits for a fast red deck like this. there shouldnt be anything costing more then 3 in a red burn/rush deck because turn 3 u want to either play a 3 casting spell like ball lightning or a 2 cost and a 1 cost, and then turn 4 u want either 2 2 costers or a 3 and a 1 coster. this type of play allows a turn 5 win almost 100% of the time, unless the opponent is using a fast lifegain deck. to speed this deck up u need to run more spell damage then creature damage. this deck needs 4 lava spikes, 4 chain lightnings, and 4 browbeats. i know there is a lot of debate over browbeat, but in a deck like this it finds its purpose. a turn 3 browbeat is almost a best case scenario. when the opponent figures out that this is a rush/burn deck they will pick the 3 cards over the 5 damage, and in those 3 cards u will hopefully draw a cheap burn spell or 2 for turn 4.

take a look at my burn deck mustang mayhem

http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=18008

it wins turn 5 90% of the time. ive played it about 30 times and its only lost 2ce to a wicked fast combo deck. if it doesnt win turn 5 it will win turn 6.
