Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (15 cards)

Instants (10)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Blue aggro with some control.

The deck has 10 lords in total to keep it viable mid and late game. Architect and Automaton have some synergy with eachother. Phantasmal image on a Lord of the Unreal on turn three can be a good wincondition. Day of Judgment needs wrecks this deck so a counterspell heavy sideboard. Redirect does not save an illusion but it can make it 1 for 1.

Would really like some pointers on adding some better spells/ artifacts.

Deck discussion for Smoke and Mirrors

Really doubting about the land count aswell. Should it be 22 or 20?

Personally in a sixty card deck I like to keep the land at twenty even.

Yeah but most tournament decks seem to be running 23 atm.

I'd drop the Summoner's Bane for Turn to Frog. A 2 drop instant like that can serve removal purposes, while a 4 drop counter spell, at least in my experience, is hard to pull off.

On a similar note, I'd throw in more redirects. Let's face it: your illusions can be killed with stuff as piddly as an Unsummon or a Dispatch. Two more redirects instead of the ponders may protect you.

Lastly, I'd add spellskite: for U or 2 life, you can protect your illusions when the Lord of the Unreal is absent.

You could (and I wouldn't recommend this) try Birthing Pod as a way to help get lord of the unreal out.

Awesome response! I think you are right in your first point. 4 mana is a bit much for a counterspell, that card will be a dead card in most match ups.

I am however not sure about Spellkite and Redirect. They still get targeted right? So would illusions not still be dead after the redirect? They die after being targeted. The redirect was there to protect the Lord and not illusions.

Birthing Pod is nice, and I don't think he targets your bears but not sure there, however I think I would add ascetism sooner then pod if I wanted to splash green. 4 life is a steep cost otherwise.

The illusions definitely die before you can redirect unfortunately.
