how exactly does the crusader survive pyros and slags? i'm pretty sure those spells dont target him, so he doesn't get protection from them :/
It is red damage being dealt. so he has protection from it.
Damage dealt to him is prevented. Clasm and storm don't target, but they do damage. Protection is prevention of damage, being enchanted, being blocked and being targeted.
but a day of judgement will still kill it.
yah, but you can wipe the board without killing your own guy. if they DOJ, you can put him under your mimic vat, and you are playing control, pop up inkmoth and swing.
inkmoth, skittles, vat and inkmoth again are all good outs against control (DoJ).
I love this deck. pro red prevents red damage being dealt. slagstorm wouldn't lay a hand on it. and skittlez is a dragon, so sarkhan will have him deal infect damage to your opponent, that is so great
too many slagstorms, 5 total in deck and sideboard. Other than that, love the concept. Kudos for originality.

What about sphere of the suns. the mana base is kinda sketchy because of the inkmoth nexus (not that you should take it out, it is amazing) just an idea
I like the idea of sphere, it would speed it up and fix mana. how is that ever bad? -1 inquisition -1 pyroclasm +2 sphere
ooh. Sphere of the Suns. That would help the deck to reach triple black mana for skittles. I think I'd take out the contagion engine and some plague stingers for them.
I love the deck. Needs moar phyrexian vatmother and ichorclaw myr, though.
vatmother isn't what this deck wants to be playing. it needs evasion.
The vatmother is too easily chumped. I have tested him. and ichorclaw myr doesn't have enough benefit to be worth having out during a clasm.
Oh, I see. Those are good reasons. Have you tried Consume the meek. Instant speed is uber good.

This deck is awesome. And Turz, just to be sure I called a local judge. And you are right. The Phyrexian Crusader would NOT be damaged from Pyroclasm or Slagstorm. So I must say, very good job.

Me likey! How does this deck do against Caw-Blade, Boros, Valakut? You know, the top tier decks.
we haven't tested it quite enough yet. but my "Big Boros" deck sure did give it a beating. but mine wasn't a top deck, so that doesn't say much.
Caw blade I can see as an easy matchup. Crusader goes straight through hawks and mystics and sideboard I have hate for the equipment. Aggro Boros is really no problem because of the sweeps and crusader again. I mean, he's pro Boros, how could that get any better. Oh yeah first strike. Valakut seems kinda iffy.

assault strobe is not needed in this deck. it would be a dead card alot of the time, and half of his creaches are 1/1 anyway.
There's nothing worth assualt strobing in the deck except for Skittles. Thats a situation where you are already winning anyway. And Sarkhan does a good job of providing the last bit of damage.
