Deck Description

The deck below is what I believe to be the fastest, most consistently winning legacy-legal elf deck. There are a lot of combos I avoided here, and the reason is because they're inconsistent. This deck consistently swings for the win on turn 3/4.

As you'll see, this deck has no attack or defense strategy. Both are too slow. Burn spells and creature-eradicators wipe this deck, but unless those spells are core to your strategy, I can win more quickly/consistently than you can play those spells.

I challenge anyone to produce a deck that wins more quickly, more consistently. Comments welcome and encouraged.

Deck discussion for Fastest Elf Deck

what is your 'god hand' with this ?
Maybe i didnt get lucky, but after 20 sample hands and not seeing anything above 15 damage on turn 4... i kinda gave up. You have no trample effect. How do you suppose you're gonna get past anyone's defence ? Most your elves are too valuable as a mana producing tool to lose in combat unless you are sure it will go unblocked.

Why do you not play at least Heedless one with all the elves you will have in play (it does have trample too, which you lack). Joraga warcaller if also very strong with all the mana you'll produce.

I really dont see how you can 'swing for the win' on turn 3/4, unless your opponent has no creature on the board. Also, just your land count made me mulligan at least 40% of the sample hands i did.
You really need to be able to drop 2 lands on the first 2 two turns, otherwise you wont be able to play Elvish archdruid on turn 2, which is the key to strong damage on turn 3/4.

This is my modern legal elf deck : http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=260800

God hand does around 30-35 damage on turn 4. It has some resilience with Asceticism, can swing past chump blockers from wheeny decks, can swing past life gain decks with triumph of the horde AND can survive board sweeps with Garruk, Asceticism, Ezuri renegade.

Oh and it costs 30 bucks to make ;)

If i put back in vines of vastwood or another similar +4/+4 cheap boost spell, i can do 44 trample damage on turn 4.

Turn 1 forest, llanowar
Turn 2 Forest elvish archdruid
Turn 3 forest llanowar, jagged scar archer,
Turn 4 Vines kicked on jagged, llanowar, Overwhelming stampede

Jagged scar is at 10/10 with vines, OS gives it +10/+10 and to all others.
2 Llanowars can attack for 12 and jagged attacks for 20.

There might be better hands but i havent found it =)
Oh and if you play against a marty of sands deck, you can still win with triumph instead of OS, if they somehow have more than 44 life including their chumpers.
