Pioneer is a fantastic format that should be represented and played at local game stores more often. It is reasonably affordable for new players and easy to get into for old players. Many standard decks just need a couple of upgrades to be viable in pioneer.When pioneer first dropped, the ban list was carefully monitored and curated to ensure a healthy format so new decks could be brewed and most strategies are viable. Unfortunately, two years isn't much time for a format to grow especially given the circumstances caused by the pandemic, but even with everything that's been going on, pioneer is in a healthy state at the moment.I am hopeful that with pioneer being announced as a pro-level format that more people will start brewing and we'll see more and more decks pop up.
