Deck Description

“It took Feyra some time to realise that she was not delirious: the citizens were wearing painted masks. From childhood she had heard the legend that the Venetians were half human, half beast. She knew that this could not be true, but in the swirling fog of this hellish city she almost believed it. The creatures seemed to stare at her down their warped noses from their blank and hollow eyes. And overlord of all was the winged lion - he was everywhere, watching from every plaque or pennant, ubiquitous and threatening.”
- Marina Fiorato, The Venetian Contract

How to Play

Bounce: There are a total of 5 cards in this deck that allow you to bounce a creature back to it's owner's hand. You may use these in order to slow down your opponent, or do so to your own creatures (preferably overlord or merchant) in order to put it's effect into motion.

Resonator: Same goes for the Resonator, use it in order to trigger their effects once, twice, or three time more.

Whip: If the Merchant or Overlord were to be killed, use the whip one last time in order to bring back their effects, combo's nicely with the resonator.

Pack Rat: A solid alternate win condition, with the shrine's help one should be able to pump out plenty of rat tokens, all of which add to your devotion.

Sensory Deprivation: Helps slow down your opponent early game, allowing the deck to warm up a bit, however, gaining back lost life shouldn't serve too much difficultly.

~~Sideboard: If you encounter you are playing against a deck which relies on black based creatures, sub out Lifebane Zombie for Wight, Wight works rather well with Desecration Demon as well. You can also sub in various counters, such as the Pithing. needle or gainsay after learning more about your opponent's deck. Rabid Hybridization is also a good way to kill off your own creature and at the same time produce a 3/3.

Deck discussion for Bubonic Boomerang

I love the interaction with Sanguine bond and Gary but it just seems so slow.

That is a rather fair point. However, that is only one of the win conditions, there are cheap creatures and there are ways to stall your opponent as well.

I feel it's rather unavoidable, really, unless you have other ideas. If that is the case I would love to hear them, love some good ol' criticism

One suggestion is add Dissolve and Ashiok. They're really good for just making your opponent regain balance early game. A great way to keep yourself alive as well because they would much rather focus on ashiok than on you. I would take out Lifebane for one, great Sideboard card though.

Fair point. In my initial build I did have a few counters and what not, but they just seemed to not fit in all that well. But I do think the deck seems somewhat slow, so I did make quite a few changes in making it a tad bit faster.

Thanks for your input!

I think you could drop the blue aspect entirely and try to fit in some more hand disruption to slow the game down and get rid of threats you can't easily deal with . Also maybe more underworld connections. Seems really good in this deck
