A selfish man back then, he wished to keep all of his boundless knowledge to himself, giving it only to his most worthy of students. One such student, however, grew mad with his knowledge, and wished to force it upon the ignorant. This was Venser, a young planeswalker who was Jace's star student. Jace found out about his plots. Normally he would have sentenced him to live in a barren world of chaos, but gave sympathy for his student and instead sent him to the world of Lorwyn. There Venser set up his guild, the Idlator guild, a guild dedicated to filling the minds of those that need knowledge; whether they want it or not.
