Deck Description

This deck I dub Crimson Bruise Neurosis. Its a control and late game bomb hybrid. The main objective is to crank out as many Megrim and Liliana's Caress as possible and finish them with a devastatingly powerful Wheel and Deal which, with 2 of either of those enchantments out, should do anywhere from 12 to 24 damage to the player. I used to play a similar but B/R version of this containing Sorin and Quest for the Pure Flame and Lightning Bolt but that version lacked staying power. The other control elements and the card advantage necessary to make it competitive are hopefully present in the decks new form.

How to Play

Within the first few turns you will not be doing all that much except for maybe laying down a rack or two and letting your lands untap. by turn 2 or 3 you should have a megrim or caress and if not there are cards like Forbidden Alchemy and Mystic Speculation to reach them. By this time, if your playing against an aggro deck, you may be taking a minor and early beating. Cards like Flamtongue Kavu, Recoil, Cyclonic Rift and the discard in general should keep most of the serious threats at bay long enough for you to ramp into a huge bomb. This could be in the form of Wheel and Deal, Ill-Gotten Means, a Careful Consideration targeted at them or Rakdos' Return.

Enchantments like Waste Not, and Leyline of Anticipation skew the rules and bonuses in your favor and my favorite thing about this deck is the ability to completely cripple about 4/6ths of most opponents once Contamination hits the board. While your fully stocked with artifacts that tap for blue and red all day and most of the stuff you need is black anyway, they'll just be sitting around saying 'ugh.... go i guess!' because they cant play a thing meanwhile providing fuel for your discard spells. In case the opposite happens, The fateful Rack is displayed above mantle for everyone to see!

What typically will happen around this point of the game is you have held out long enough to find at least two or three Caresses or Megrim and you can easily knock em out with one well timed Wheel and Deal. Oh but don't do it when its like your turn and they've been doing nothing lol. Why not wait for a well timed Meditate at the end of their turn so you don't have to sacrifice one of your fateful zombies or specters for that pesky Contamination. And, if you've got the mana, Wheel n Deal during their upkeep, ruining all their well laid plans... oh wait you couldn't cast anything with your White and Blue control deck there. Oh well, hope you learned something at least cuz now your sitting at -8 life. rofl.
