Deck Description

Grixis Control has always been pretty awesome sitting in the back of my mind. Now that Khans of Tarkir has come out, I decided to brew around with this deck with Howl of the Horde in mind. I have been using Izzet burn for the past year, so I tried to spin off from that aswell and came to this. I also don't believe in fetch lands because they cost ungodly amounts of money. (A playset of Polluted Deltas could pay for this deck) SUGGESTIONS ARE WANTED

How to Play

This is my first Grixis deck. I don't know how to play it, you decide it. I'm not your mother. Control is typically boring, with life gain and idiots sitting behind Elspeths. With this deck, it's a little more aggressive, like obtaining Polukranos from Harness by Force, and putting them on a 5 turn timer with Stormbreath Dragon. Everything else is there to gain board advantage. This is how you win with Grixis.

Rendamere, actually you were my inspiration of this deck. I used to love Izzet when it was good in standard so I took it a step further. This deck was meant to be around 100$, so it's not going to be as good as a traditional control deck. I am considering some of the cards in your grixis deck however...

Also, instead of Act of Treason, Harness by Force. The strive makes it a good card to pour your mana into

I see what your trying to do with Harness by force but what I have found is I have enough going on where i can't just pour mana into it. I always have to leave some for Counters, Kill Cards, Return to Hands etc. ***EDIT*** I would rather leave mana and cast a Crater's Claws. A really great play that has been working for me is to attack with copied card whether they block or not. in the next main phase I am using Howl of the Horde with Craters Claws. So you attacked your clever impersonator is hopefully a 4/4 or 4/* so lets say you have 9 mana mid-late game and your still alive... you cast howl of the horde for 3 mana leaving you with 6... you attacked this turn so you do 5 damage plus 2 damage... but it hits 3 times... so 21 damage... its a game ender.

I do like your Chimera in the sideboard... this could be really effective in mid game.

Leave a comment on mine if you can... I want someone to get there STD Grixis deck on the hot list so more discussion happens.

Yes sire... I feel that harness by force is just a little better than act of treason, and that's why I put it in there instead of act of treason lol

I honestly have never tried out this deck. I used my knowledge about Esper Control and Izzet and smashed them together. Also, I related to my mono red control(your creatures) http://www.mtgvault.com/xjosheusx/decks/mono-red-controlburn/
