hows it goin my man, i love a good X smash deck, ive built a couple. some serious cards you need in here are banefire, Kaervek's Torch, upwelling, vernal bloom, Rosheen Meanderer banefire is the best X card ever cause it cant be countered, ive used it in about 100 decks to end life, some defensive stuff wouldnt be too bad ether, try silent arbiter, pyroclasm, vine trellis to make sure the opponent cant finish u off before you deliver the big bang. Thanks for your help! I added the first few cards you mentioned to the list because they are all great picks. However I have not yet added vine trellis, Rosheen Meanderer, and Silent Arbiter because I'm not sure they fit into the idea. You see I was going to keep the field clear of creatures by killing them with my x spells. If I have creatures they will die to cards like savage twister, molten disaster, or starstorm. I was also hoping on subsidizing my life with some cards. I figured that if I can keep the board empty for a while then every card I draw will be worth much more than each card my opponent draws because of how much land is out.
For example: a two-drop creature spell is worthless compared to a XF Gain life equal to x card when each player has eight lands out.
try running cloud posts or urza lands for an insane mana boost by the time you have 8 lands out you will pump out way more than 8 - 12 mana
if you use the urza lands also run sylvan scrying so you can fetch the parts you need

You HAVE to get Rosheen Meander'er in there, he give you an extra 4 land for and spell with "X"
Okay I've moved to using creatures and I got rid of earthquake. I'll rely on burn spells solely for creature killing now.
