Deck Description

A new direction for my red deck. Shh! It's a secret.

The idea is to spash a little bit of green in the 'pure' red burn deck and spam Quest for Renewal's untap effect to have cards like Cinder Pyromancer, Cunning Sparkmage, and Prodigal Pyromancer deal their 1 damage on each player's turn.

Possible Ideas/Changes/Whatever

~ Is Obsidian Fireheart worth it in this deck? He's nice, but his ability seems too slow.
~ Is Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle worth it now that there are 6 less Mountains?
~ Is Bloodchief Ascension worth putting in Swamps for? (it is a nice combo with Q4Renewal)
~ Is Claws of Valakut worth it when there are so few creatures, and they have low Toughness?
~ How about the new cards Brimstone Mage and Forked Bolt??
~ Pyromancer Ascension is also pretty slow for this deck.
~ Since there will be a few Forests, are there any other Green cards that might help (max x4).
~ Read Volcanic Hammer. Compare.
~ Spire Barrage is a nice, variable damage card, but it's not nearly as flexible as Comet Storm (and it's 'Mountain' clause won't help much when I have 6 non-Mountains.)

A couple of things I see necessary for this deck...
~ More creatures, especially ones who spam Q4R. Perhaps rationalizing x4 Claws of Valakut
~ Clean up the spells. For example, Burst Lightning is cool, but I always want to hold on an kick it later. Searing Blaze is great, but only when I played a land this turn and only when the opponent has a creature out (if they don't, I can't even do 1 damage to them, the player.) Earthquake is a nice card for clearing the field, but I feel like I'm missing out on something. What about Fireball?
~ Fireball has the best cost/damage ratio when considering it against just a player. Comet Storm, however, shines in comparison when kicked to give an ungodly overall cost/damage ratio. Without the kick (and the doubling of the output), it's just Fireball that costs one more Mountain to play. But I think the one Mountain is worth it when you get to destroy so much. How's x2 Earthquake and x2 Comet Storm sound?
~ Forked Bolt, for only one Mountain, can do 3 possible things, it's total damage only 1 less than the legendary Lighting Bolt. 1) 2 damage to target player. Not bad - it's Burst Lightning in that regard. 2) 1 damage to target player and 1 damage to target creature. Again, that's nice - it's Searing Blaze without the Landfall beefiness and without the annoying must-have-a-creature clause. 3) 2 damage to target creature. Again, it's Burst Lightning.
~ Argh! I like all these spells!

I like the 2 Forest/4 Terramorphic because it ensures that I'll almost always have a Forest before a Quest for Renewal (6/4 = 150%). On top of that, the small window that I may have a Forest and no Quest means that I can use that Forest like any other land until I need it. It's a win-win scenario.
