Deck discussion for Discard

This deck needs 4 waste not... XD I tried doing this deck in standard, and it just doesn't work nearly as well as you'd like it to, you are better off making it modern (unless khans brought some magical way to make this deck good, in which case go right ahead).

yes, waste not is the engine of this deck. So so so important. I run a modern version of this deck and it is super helpful to get that out 2nd or 3rd turn.

Here's my modern version:

So wait, you just a mono black control deck then?

Nope. Discard. But it works kind of in a controlling fashion. Especially once you have painful quandary out.

No I meant this deck. I see the discard deck you have for modern being viable, this one just confuses me though.

OH, yeah, definitely.
Could use some touching up, it seems.

Though I don't really like painful quandary, but I'm more of a stickler when it comes to using high cmc cards in modern. I think it'd be better replaced by the rack/shrieking affliction.
