Ha, you know at the top of the page, your deck is the one listed as the inspiration lol. I am the guy who replied saying I was making my own from your idea?

Looks like I cant afford the grieves anymore though, budget passed $10. =/

Ok, Now I think you don't have enough creatures lol. At 8 creatures, odds say you will catch a creature every 7.5 cards. If it isn't invisible stalker, then they can kill it off and you're stuck drawing till you find a new creature.

Bonesaw wont help you much here; livewire lash isn't super useful with your limited spells either. I would scrap both. Inquisitors flail is ok with hexproofed creatures, but may get you into trouble with a board damage effect. Fireshrieker costs 1 more, but doesn't have the drawback.

I run a G/B unblockable if you are interested:

Its so good to see people making cheap decks. Were you looking to keep it standard for as long as possible or did you want to splash some older cards when it falls off? Personally I would drop some swarmlords or a hydra and add some cheaper creatures to give you more of an early game rush, which is your real advantage. This would help you with the mana curve and the counteract the effectiveness of creature control. Given how much buff you have in this, I think you don't have to have anything in your deck cost more than 4 mana to play.

Good call on the Fresh Meat. It really works well here. I am really not sure about the mycoloths though but they will stay until a better option comes along. I opted away from Gluttonous slime as it only really helped me if my critters were under threat. Otherwise he would be a bit of a dud as I would be using my fodder for better devours. Wasn't sure about Predator either because all that really concerns me is the tokens and there are cheaper alternatives to get them out, however, he is looking like a better alternative to Mycoloth. I may swap um at some point.

I think this deck really suffers from a lack of devour cards. Options are too limited to get creative. =/ Sadly I am at a loss as to what more I can do here.

I would worry about trying to mill both you and your opponent at the same time. I would think you would make both take twice as long if you were to split cards to each. I would commit one way or another but that is a personal preference. If you feel you can last long enough to do both, go for it.

This is what I went with for self depletion:

Note the self mill spells used. If you were to run some of those, they may be beneficial to one of your win conditions.

So here is a question for both decks. Mystic Speculation or Preordain?

Oh, I didn't know that others could see my WIP decks. I'll need to remember to flesh out my thoughts and stop making junk decks to keep track of things.

I actually have 3 mycoloths in my possession so adding them in wouldn't kill my budget, I forget why I was trying to steer clear of using them though. This is what happens when I start decks then get distracted. As for mono-green, I was going to try to splash more eldrazi spawn gen in there and red is the best bang for the buck. Furthermore, are there any other green devour cards worth a mention? To my understanding, all the best devour was in red.

Thanks guys. This version ended up a bit inflexible budget wise so I made a second version that is more akin with what I want out of the deck.

What do you recommend from your deck? Sadly I don't see too much I can afford.

Took the advice. Opted for the Cleaver as I had a really awkward mana gap at 3. Still not perfect but it helps. Thanks!

With Laboratory Maniac in the mix, is your goal to deplete your own library or are you looking to mill the opponent?

I think you may have posted the wrong deck. That one doesn't really fit this mold at all.

May toss in a few charms but at the price I am already at, there is no chance I can get in any of the other cards you suggested. The cards you suggested alone cost more than this deck should. Thanks for the help though!

Why is this a deck and not a deck challenge? Oh well. *Shrug* Pick from any of the "Budget: $10" Decks.
Note: some of the early $10 ones need refreshed for price increases over time.

Blitz Hellion's mana cost would hurt too much. In its best state, it is 5 mana for 7 damage. I do like leatherback Baloth, but not in this deck. 3 green mana would be fine in a mono, but in a G/R, you never know if you can get 3 green. In fact, if my math is right, it should take an average of 15 cards to get 3 green mana.

Sadly, on my budget, tourney decks are a bit difficult. Gotta make do with what we got I suppose. Thanks for the kind words.

Thought this deck would make for some good fun so I decided to make my own. I just liked Terra Eternal way too much. Here is mine if you are interested:

I liked Civic Saber a lot for this. Its nice having a droppable on the first turn. I couldn't see Dryad militant being useful enough all around to justify its place at the expense of something else. This deck has enough issues. Worrying about the graveyard is low on the list.

Tempting. Life is a bit vulnerable in this deck. I think the kills will afford me more wiggle room though. Perhaps once I have this deck in my possession, I will throw some in and see the play difference.

Thanks for the kind words. I was wondering if I would hear from the resident extraction expert. I considered thoughtpicker witch but felt the usefulness of the sacrifice mechanic would be hindered by the shortage of creatures and earwig squad would require me to add goblins or rogues to make effective.

Unfortunately, unless I shell out more cash, I can't really play much more extraction from what I have seen. The only avenues I can see changing are my end game critter or my creature kills. =/
