Deck Description

My treefolk deck.

Tips - Get Leaf Crowned Elder out ASAP to speed treefolk drop.

Next, Oracle of Mul Daya to ensure there aren't any pesky lands on top of your deck, mana accell, and maximize your Elder's potential!

Harbinge for and play at least one (hopefully two) Timbre Protectors

Damnation the board!

At this point, you should have enough treefolk out to win the game in one swing (or a few turns in multiplayer).

To change it to Modern legal, take out Bayou, Gaea's Cradle, and Nature's Lore, throw in 4 Overgrown Tomb (or green black mana fixer of choice) and two of each Sword of Fire and Ice and sword of Feast and Famine.

This is another deck that both plays through the majority of its cards QUICKLY and makes tables give up and start a new game. :)

Warning: Playing with my decks may make players focus you in future games.

Deck discussion for Overpowered Treefolk

Love the creatures! I've always wanted to make a treefolk deck and have been collecting when I can, but still don't have all the parts yet.

Thanks for the comment! Please check out my other decks as well. :)

Simplest solutions: proxy or play on Cockatrice.

I love to build, but I don't care about collecting. I'm glad you like the deck. I originally had Doran, the Seige tower and Indomitable ancients in here for a cool combo, but I find that neither of them is necessary between Dauntless and Dungrove getting big fast, and Protector giving all my creatures +1/+1 and indestructible anyway so no need for the blockers.

Nice! Didn't consider the oracle. In a modern format do you find this deck fast enough to compete? I was having problems getting mine up and running quickly. I'm about to check out your zombie deck, would you mind giving my new doran deck a once over?

This deck was my repsonse to the disappointment of my tribal treefolk being just a little too slow. I tried so hard! Check it out please, I could use any tips or suggestions

Thanks for the comment! I play a lot of casual FFA, and I've found that treefolk as a tribe are powerful if you get them going, but they do take time to get going.

If you wanted them going a little faster, you could take out the four nature's lore and replace them with Birds of Paradise or Llanowar Elves, but in multiplayer I find that they often get destroyed and make you more of a target, and I would rather just get the land straight in to play anyway. After all, the Dourbarks and Dungrove's get stronger off of having more forests in play.

If you are talking about competitive modern then no, treefolk are just too slow because of their high CMC. All my decks are casual and best in multiplayer where one has a little time to build up quietly then EXPLODE and wipe everyone out.

Will gladly check out your deck.

Whilst playing against this deck I had literally thousands of tokens out, and this deck's synergistic combination of Indestructable and Board Clear cost me the game. It was harrowing to succumb to such a defeat, with such a board presence, but such is the way of Magic. 10/10, would lose to again.

Hm, tribal decks don't grant much room for improvements. Here are my thoughts:

* Gaea's Cradle might not be the best choice here since it needs creatures in the first place to get going. You run a total of 8 creatures that cost 1 or 2 mana. This is a risky move, especially considering Twilight Mire is in the mix, too, which doesn't produce coloured mana unless you have a regular green mana source. You should be alright 4 out of 5 games against goldfishs but if the opponent pays attention, early removal spells can seriously cripple you.

* Are 2 Damnations enough to justify the troubles of messing with the mana base like that? If Damnation is such an important card for your gameplan, then you should go to 4 copies.

* Again, neither enchantment nor artifact removal even though there is one available withing your tribe: Wickerbough Elder.

* Sylvan Library (Mirri's Guile) would help both with Leaf-Crowned Elder (putting creatures on top) and Oracle of Mul Daya (putting lands on top) and thus make this deck much more consistent, especially since it is pretty good just on it's own and can help to find those Elders and Oracles in the first place. With Sylvan Library, don't be shy to pay for those extra cards when there is a Collar in sight.

Woodfall Primus deals with Enchantments and Artifacts for long enough to win.
Damnation isn't always necessary to win, hence the fact that there are only two of them. That and I never need to draw more than one to win, if one doesn't work a second one won't work either. Indestructible 20/20 tramplers usually win effectively enough. That being said, I've never found it has cause problems with my mana base as all the lands I have which produce black produce both colors, so it's not a burden on the deck. Also, I draw Damnation fairly reliably because of the combination of Leaf-Crowned Elder, Oracle of Mul-Daya, and Nature's Lore just getting everything else out of the way in my deck. This deck easily puts half of its cards in play.
You are correct about Gaea's Cradle though, I should probably take two of them out and replace them with either forests or another utility land. By the time there are enough creatures in play I really don't need Gaea's Cradle in order to play my cards, that and most of the cards end up coming out for free anyway. Is there any land in particular you would suggest replacing them with, or just forests? Maybe a fetch land? I like the idea of using them to thin out my deck so I can just get to playing creatures.
As always, A+ comment, what decks would you suggest I take a look at to return the favor?

I got from your deck description that Damnation is important, that's why :)

Possible replacements for Cradle:
- Wasteland (important in my meta, don't know about yours)
- Yavimaya Hollow
- fetchies/basic Forest

But a combination of those since the first two don't generate G either.

This deck of mine is still in brainstorming phase:

And this one is finished and about to be assembled for our next Magic night, maybe I missed something (still don't own Brago, though)
