Deck Description

A slow but resilient "combo" deck focused arouund Ghostly Possesion/Pentarch Ward.

But before we get in the janky bit I'm going to talk about Standard Bearer.

Standard Bearer is a hate card that draws out removal and shuts bogles, elf pump ( timberwatch elf) and stompy pump down, aloongside the fact that it is really irritating for burn to the face. It's a great card and it honestly should see more play.

Although Standard Bearer doesn't work with Ward or Possession (besides making it a good blocker) it does act like a lightning rod for burn and removal which ou can easily dodge with counters/bounce.

So here's where it gets janky. You can also play Wall of Glare and drop Ghostly Possesion on him and BLOCK EVERY FREAKING THING EVER. Stompy slams in with 4 creatures? tank it. Delver flips and is about to swing? TANK IT. kim jong-on is droppin his biggest nuke yet? TANK IT.

But besides Ghostly Possesion both creatures pull their weight too. And you can always bounce them (Deputy of Acquittals) or flicker them with Ghostly Flicker to make sure they come out unscathed.

Besides those few cards the deck runs a few cantrips, counters, late game grind fest cards and good ol Archaeomancer to profit of the flicker and to get answers back from the grave. And last but not least Guardian of the Guildpact for when you really can't get through the enemy lines.

The sideboard is where most of the magic happens there's another muddle in there and 3 Circles of Protection. In pauper there is no answer for transmuting a card but keep in mind to have a counterspell ready when you drop the circle. Besides that the side is home for additional Dispels, Palace Guards and Mind Games you can slot these in when you need too. What's leftover is Dawn Charm (agaiinst edicts and duress effects) Hallow (for Rolling Thunder) Fragmentise (rip Affinity) and a good ol' rellic.

The first time I tested this for fun I 5-0d a pauper cup although that might be luck and the fact that 3 of the decks I've played against were pretty weak against this particular combination of cards. Like normally I'll test the deck in 50 random matches online and tweak were it's needed and report back to y'all, so I'll update this description within a few days.

Deck discussion for Can't touch this (pauper)

+1
Great deck, nothing to add here. The only thing I you could change in the description would be the passage about Standard Bearer, Ghostly Possession and burn spells. "...but also a lightning rod for most burn spells sucking them up like it's nothing" sounds too much like Standard Bearer would stay alive if a Bolt, Lava Axe or anything similar would hit him while enchanted.

Greetings
Muktol

Oh that's 100% a mistake on my part I thought it was damage.

I'll be honest, I made the mistake Muktol mentioned. Your description makes it sounded a lot like Ghostly possession gives Standard Bearer protection from damage as opposed to combat damage. I had to go and check my knowledge on Possession XD. Otherwise a sweet deck man - and you are right Standard bearer is underrated!
