Get your creatures out and attached Lashwrithe to them. Don't be afraid to pass it around for offensive and defensive use frequently, as Vampire Nighthawk will quickly gain life back. Attaching it to Dusk Urchins also allows you to draw an outrageous amount of cards while keeping you offensive. Wall of Souls is a powerful deterrent, and Typhoid Rat is cheap and potent at both roles.Doom Blade for removal. Dash Hopes for flavorful countering. Sign in Blood keeps your hand moving cheaply, while Demonic Tutor grabs what you need in a pinch. Profane Command provides late game flexibility for returning the fallen or applying massive damage.It can do all of this reliably at well below an average of 2 mana per spell. The price point is attractive as well. It rarely loses, even to decks that are worth several hundred dollars. It's only real weakness are coping with enchantments, but that's the Achilles Heel for any mono-black player. For those not interested in pursuing Demonic Tutor, Beseech the Queen is an excellent budget alternative.
