ramp to get colossus montrosity and swing for game. filibuster with vorel to speed up for game. prevents and defenders to hold creatures back and to save filibuster counters defenders for ramp please help would like to some how make this work as competive standard deck.

Have you thought about gyre sages? I know that it's not defender, but you can boost them with vorel, should evolve with the defenders and can be decent beaters.

I was thinking that but it would only get 2 or 3 counters at most. So just having defenders makes axe bane that much better
You could use a Assault Formation to deal some damge.
