This has got to be one of the coolest/cost effective decks in standard!! Sure it has a few flaws (like no stormcrow lol) and sure, it wont put up much of a fight against burn/mill decks but there are alot of creature based decks floating around at the moment and losing to a deck like this would be the equivilant of being kicked in the nutz.

Thanks for your detailed analysis of my deck (it has left me quite a bit to think about). In a perfect world i would have 3-4 of each card type but i have tried to use the cards that i currently have and arnt tied up in other decks as it shits me to tears when someone takes 10-15mins rebuilding their decks or having to use proxy's before the game starts so until i get a few more copies of each im gonna go with unpredictability is a good thing lol.
I did seriously consider using the maniac's in this deck (as they are currently collecting dusk in my collection) but i didnt consider this a hardcore self miller and with the memory's in there im able to recall almost half the cards i mill (from flashback) so i decieded against it but sideboarding a few is a good idea as he does give me a back up plan if my creatures keep getting killed.
Gnaw to the bone only made the cut due to the flashback, as there is a pretty good chance one of them will end up in my graveyard fairly early and with my mana curve being very low i thought it might help counter burn decks.
I gotta admit i am a fan of the invisible stalker, but your right, 2 isnt enough, i did like the idea of him and wreath though so i might have to try and get and extra 1 of each if not 2 as i think those 2 combined can really dominate a game with this deck.
Im not sure about subbing out my dawntreaders for hinterland harbours as despite them both giving me a mana source, dawntreader gives me the benifit of a blocker if hes in play and the added bonus for splinter if hes milled. If i mill hinterland (which is fairly likely) then it does nothing for me.
Now evoliving wilds is something i desperatly need to get a few of, i cant believe i didnt think about including them.
Thanks again for your feedback/insight with this deck unfortunatly you have forced me to dust off my credit card and go shopping on ebay for quite a few extra cards lol.

Thanks mate, this deck is really designed for one monsterous attack around turn 5. Its alot of fun to play, particularly in multiplayer as the spells and creatures dont draw very much attention so in 1turn u can really leave ya mark on the game.

I guess it depends depends on how you want to win but if you have 4 x splinters and 4 x bonewurms then i think you gotta use them otherwise why bother having them there. civilized is only a 0/1 but he can not only get big, but he can get your splinter and wurm and additional +1 +1 and take out a blocker. the armoured skaab is just as important as not only do you get a blocker but you get to pump up the other guys. When i get hom (actually at work atm lol) ill post mine. Im not saying its better but it is a bit different and it might help you fine tune your one. Mine is standard and i think is almost (if not all) innistrad and DA

A cheap/effective card to deal with flyers would be the one eyed scarecrow. Also, i think you have to many skabs, i would probably rip of the makeshift maulers and add another 1-2 drakes and possibly a couple of armoured skaabs as you can cast them without exiling. Also, Havangul is a awesome creature but when you are constantly exiling them for skaabs it kinda dries up your options (especially if your opponent isnt playing black/blue), same goes for the ruinbinder, those guys can work really well together but both need a constand supply of corpses. What i think you need to do is kinda make 2 different zombie decks. they can both be black and blue if you want but have one thats more traditional zombies and another thats based around the skabs

This deck isnt to bad, ive been working on one fairly similar but you definatly need to add mulch, armoured skab and civilized scholar as they offer good offence/defence and food for your splinter and bonewurm. I also run a couple of cackling counterparts as the more splinters you can get out, the better

I agree 110% that Black sun is a creature killer, but becuase the -1 -1's are permanent they are counter productive for olivia becuase they undo her additional +1+1's and at the same time eliminate her targets for additional ones. I would probably sub them out and replace them with blasphamas acts as they would work with your crusader ( im gonna start using him a bit more after seeing this deck) and possibly adding in a few undying evils or nims deathmantles as mana wouldnt be an issue for either of them in this deck and we all know the only thing better than sweeping the board is to make it one sided. The only issue i have with the deck at the moment is the lack of flexibility (like having to wait to bring olivia out etc) as if the deck is built around olivia then your you should be striving to get her out as quickly as possible and ensuring she stays there and wrecks your opponent.

I dont see how 4 slagstorms can = a sweep, i know you have ratchets on ya sideboard but if ya relying on sweeping, then you have to find space for them in the in the actual deck. also, i think olivia is wasted in this deck as activating her abilities will take mana you really need (particularly early in the game) as your other creatures need 2 red or black so the colourless mana ramping isnt gonna help as much. Your deck has alot of power in it but i think early to mid game you are giving your opponent to much time/space to amass a decent army or set up their own combo's

They wouldnt be dead draws if u threw in a few grimore of the dead books. i just think the deck is to top heavy. im currently workin on a restless heartless summoning deck so i know how difficult it is to find decent creatures that wont drop dead when heartless is in play. Warpriest of thran might be handy as he can knock out a enchantment or gaTekeeper of malakir to kill something.

I like the idea of this deck but i think you really, really need some lower cost creatures becuase you really cant do very much until turn 4 and that kind of handicap is difficult to come back from. i would get a few doomed travellers (or anything similar) and maybe a cheap defended or 2 to not only repel some of the damage but to all waste any of the killing spells as it would be heartbreaking to finally bring in one of your big guys and to simply have it destroyed/exiled immeadiatly

why not add in a couple of augury owls and preordains? scrying and a chump blocker early in the game could help you either find a fabricate or a galvanizer a bit quicker and both of these are very, very cheap lol

Now this is a cool deck! The only problem i can see with it is your opponent jumping over the table to give you a black eye by turn 3 lol. Well done!

The only suggestion i can have is try and keep the deck as simple as possible to start with and then replace the cards after a couple of games with a friend. If possible, its probably easier to have at least 2 of each creature/spell so you can guage whether it helps you win or not as having "1" of a creature is pretty pointlless unless you have a way of searching your library for it. The best thing about magic is a bulk of the cards play very differently depending on the individual so it makes it very hard to suggest what to add in/take away. After playing a game or 2, you will quickly realzie whether you prefer to be aggressive or defensive. Green is naturally a very aggressive colour but can be equally effective in defence. The only cards i can recomend that you should definatly get are more young wolves, ambush vipers, Strangleroot Geist and llanowar elves as they are all pretty cheap ($$) but will slot into almost any green deck nicely

Heres a really casual/budget deck i made out of essentially commons that shows how almost and entire deck can combo/jell together without having to load it up with rares. The combo's are simple but effective and might give you a better idea on how to create some within your own deck.
