Really like the way Accused Witch works, so I decided to capitalize on it. The deck is far from perfect, but it should work nicely
Use the Witch to make your spells a little cheaper, and then use Blood Funnel to make then even cheaper! Funnel is something I've wanted to use for so long but couldn't find a deck it would work well in. With the Witch you want her to die, so it's a great combo. On top of that we have Dark Petition, which when combined with a single Funnel is great value, effectively only costing you a single mana (to unearth or regenerate if necessary) to tutor up an answer!

Accused Witch is a funny card and makes great casual decks, however, I would couple her with BUYBACK! Brush with Death, Mind Peel, Fanning the Flames, Seering Touch ... but those aren't Modern.

I was going to go legacy with this originally, but I decided in modern since it was less stuff to look through and cheaper. My only regret is not being able to use cabal coffers over nykthos
Okay, but you don't really make use of the Witches mana cost reducing ability if you play single, not-reuseable spells on the opponent. It could have been a Charcoal Diamond and you'd get the same result. What about retrace then? Or Flashback? Recover? Something like this that can be cast repeateadly. Let's see:- Syphon Life- Pulse of the Dross... damn, that's it! Modern sucks :)
Yeah I might have to go the route of legacy. And while I do agree that I would get the same effect from a charcoal diamond, it's more fun to play a creature that has a death wish and force my opponent to find a way to deal with it or else chump block it to death. And if they don't and just were to pacify it, then I can sacrifice it to blood funnel. Short of exile, I always have a use for it
Of course, Witch also drains for one per turn when she is an enchantment. I just wish we had decent spell to go with Funnel & Witch.
There's the other curse that drains life based on the number of curses attached to a player. That was initially what I wanted to do but they are all rather expensive at five each. Even with the witch it was too slow of a strategy
