Deck Description

This is inspired by a similar deck of mine that I call Democracy, but whereas that one is all about the Will of the Council mechanic, this one is all about the choice. Will you, or won't you?

How to Play

Control the flow of the game by being a moderator. You aren't directly preventing anything from happening, so you aren't much of a threat at first. Let everyone else fight amongst themselves while you kick yourself down. Then when the timing is right, cast Sen Triplets and begin your domination. It's especially useful if you have Lighthouse Chronologist out and at max level when you do this.

Deck discussion for Sen Triplets EDH

Well, sadly I have to say that if this were my deck I wouldn't change a thing. You're extremely well prepared with all the cards from conspiracy that allow all people to make a choice therefore minimizing your threat level. I'd say this deck actually takes on a position of a kind of moderator.
The only thing I don't really get, and maybe this is a personal thing, is what your end game is. I see the synergy between Sen triplets and lighthouse, but is the plan just to hope that you're opponent has some crazy nasty finisher?

Actually with all the cards in here that hit your life if you choose to ignore them, it's rather easy to kill someone off if they aren't paying attention. Add in the fact that even though I'm being passive, they still have to worry about active players besides me. It's true that the one goal here is to try and get the sen lighthouse lock going, because once that happens, everyone will only get one last turn before I ruin their entire strategy. Think of this deck as the Adolf Hitler of commander. Seems harmless at first, until it suddenly becomes a complete tyrant who controls everything

This is already quite well built. Main thing to have in mind would be, though: Don't expect your commander to be in play all the time! In fact, in the typical commander game, commanders spend about 95% of their time in the command zone (or in a limbo of sorts or shuffled into the library etc.). On the other hand it is never a bad thing to stop your opponent's progression, so all the cards you have there that are messing with the opponent's ability to cast stuff are still good even without a Triplet in play ... in 1-on-1. In multiplayer, though? You'll quickly play alone against everyone else :)

Okay, so, assuming you play 1-on-1 or team based multiplayer formats like 2-headed-giant but no free-for-alls:

* Strong "Taxing" and slowing cards you forgot about:
- Grand Arbiter Augustin IV (also accelerates you!)
- Mystic Remora
- Fate Spinner
- Mind's Eye
- Dissipation Field

* With all that jazz to stop your opponent from playing cards I am surprised to see no Black Vise or similar.

* Confound and maybe Misdirection to protect your Triplets!

* No Sol Ring!?

* Celestial Dawn allows you to play green and red cards from the opponent's hands!

* Now we need to make room:
- Howling Mine isn't exactly a good card to begin with and not strong here either. Even with all that taxing you don't want to give your opponent more options to do something. This is commander after all, those decks are brimming with solutions to everything! Also, you'll be busy playing your opponent's stuff via Triplets. This should directly be replaced by the Mind's Eye.
- Mundungu and Disruptive Student are oldschool and fun but don't really cut the cheese anymore.
- Wand of Ith is counterproductive.
- Umbilicus may be good in some situations but chances are the opponent will have something with a come-into-play-effect that will wreck you if you give him a free way to replay it every turn.
- Ill-Gotten Gains is also counterproductive

* Since the milling part of Fascination is pointless (or outright dangerous!) in commander you should replace this with Prosperity. Personally I would cut it altogether in favour of one of the cards above. For similar reasons (and reasons mentioned earlier regarding Howling Mine) I would not play Whispering Madness.

* Reign of the Pit is a good card in multiplayer, however, I think in this particular deck Syphon Flesh is the better choice. Chances are your opponents won't have big stuff anyway.

* Control Magic is strictly better than Soul Ransom.

Thank you for all the feedback! Really appreciate it!

I'm actually banking on my commander staying in its zone until I need it, so that's not an issue here. Also, the deck I based this on sucked ass in 1v1 but was a shining fucking star in multiplayer matches (2HG and free-for-all). As for all the cards you said I forgot, I either glossed over them or missed them entirely, but I'm going to move things around and try and find places for all of them if I can, ESPECIALLY Black Vise, which I didn't even know existed! I already have a Misdirection so that's an easy fix, and I don't think I will need Sol Ring because the deck is fairly cheap on casting cost considering the usual commander decks go upwards of CMC 7+ for the best spells, whereas I'm content in the neighborhood of 3-4 for my average mana cost. Also, Celestial Dawn will be finding a home in this deck at some point.

Now for replacing stuff, I completely agree with Mind's Eye for Howling Mine. As for the two counter-creatures, they're more for the annoyance and to fuck with the opponent's mana management if need be. Plus with all those big spells out there, sometimes people get excited and use all their mana to cast a spell without thinking it out and waiting a turn or two to be safe. Beyond that though, they could be replaced if necessary. Wand of Ith just fits the deck flavor, so that's the only reason I added it, but it can be a problem if someone is low on life and is in a bad spot. Again though, it can be replaced if needed. Umbilicus (and Blood Clock) are both kinda nice if I can get them out early on since they can bounce lands too, but things like Acidic Slime do concern me a great deal. I need to play the deck first and see how those end up going over. Ill-Gotten Gains I'm probably going to drop just because it can hurt me just as much as help me. Fascination I'm on the fence with, since I could possibly use its mill to my advantage, but it's a big if. With Whispering Madness, I'm banking on using it to empty hands of things people need right then and possibly giving them a crappy replacement hand. It won't always work like that, but it could be fun either way. I probably won't ever use the Cipher ability either. Syphon Flesh is definitely a better option here, so that will be going in to replace Reign of the Pit. As for Soul Ransom, it may not allow me to keep the creature I take, but it does net me two more cards and drops another player two cards. I'm not playing it for the creature advantage at all, but it can be useful for a short while.

Again, I really do appreciate your feedback. Let me know what you think about my reply and we can debate what changes should be made. Only thing I want is for the deck to be better, so discussion will really help.

How about adding Mycosynth Lattice? It is expensive, but should be great when it resolves.

It wouldn't really affect the deck in any way. Yeah it helps me out, but it also helps everyone else. The deck is designed to be about choice and the options of whether or not you will allow something to benefit me or hurt you. Lattice doesn't fit that theme. It's still a fantastic card, but not here I think
