Deck Description

Produce tons of +1/+1 counters on a few creatures and then hit hard relying on trample or intimidate to get damage through

How to Play

Use lotleth troll's discard ability to discard my creatures with scavenge combined with one or more corpsejack menace to multiply all the +1/+1 counters and pump lotleth up above the 20/19 and up range and use his trample to push the damage through. If trample can't do it, korozda guildmage gives him intimidate and if my 20/19 troll gets detained, pacified or otherwise incapacitated I can use korozda guildmage's second ability and turn the 20/19 troll into 20 1/1 saproling tokens

Deck discussion for Rotting Scavengers

I really like this golgari deck.
I got back into MTG when return to ravnica released and played golgari in a booster draft, been sidetracked since then but ive been meaning to make a full 60 card golgari deck.

Not sure if i can help you im still getting back into mtg. I would say you may might need some more land, looks a little light seeing as you got a lot of cmc 4 in there. how does it play do you ever need more land?

switch the guild gate with overgrown tomb, lands that come into play tapped only slow you down, shocklands are very worth cause u have the option of untapping

This i an ok deck but i dont think it will be good in the standard we have. A lot of sideboard cards can destroy this deck. Thats sad because its cool made

Maybe I'm missing something, but what would you be using the "treasured find" cards to pull back out? That seems like a bit of a waste. Maybe Some Golgari Charms or doom blades could replace them. You also need at least 2 more lands.

its used in combo with grisly salvage so you can get any card you discarded for that back into your hand like a land or a creature you wanted but took something else.

Eternal love for Golgari +1/+1 counter decks! I recently updated mine to standard and I think you'd appreciate some of the implications: http://www.mtgvault.com/somnonaut/decks/immortal-mire/

I found that using the built-in scavenge mechanic on every card other than Slitherhead is way less mana-efficient at generating +1/+1 counters than just putting Hydras on the field. And no +1/+1 counter deck is complete without Bioshift!

Good call on Bioshift, man. Good call.

I would take out Vraska, and replace her with Death's Defiance.

You need "Increasing Savagery"

That would be a great card to add. What would you replace, though?
