Deck Description

With Born of the Gods, we have new Gods. It is only fitting that they are in a deck list together. to form a partial pantheon in the Bant colors, or a Bantheon if you will. It is designed as a mid-range Bant devotion deck with huge amounts of synergy.

How to Play

Play styles obviously depends upon which deck your opponent is playing. The general idea is to place threats as often as possible working off of Trostani's triggered life gain and detention spheres to get you to the mid-game. Every threat has a big back-end and is almost burn proof. General win conditions are Archangel to dominate the board, Kiora to release the Krakens, Elspeth's Army, oh and of course the gods, all three of them in the main board are easy to turn on with Trostani, detention spheres, and archangels, and if all three happen to hit the board then only three more white devotion will turn them all on. The strategy is to make them answer everything while gaining life advantage.

side boarding strategy is to shift to the colors that are more advantageous in the matchup.

vs. agro: board out detention spheres, and selesnya charms to get a full 8 bounces to control the tempo, plus Blind obedience with its extort capabilities.

Vs. Control: bring in Aetherling as an additional win condition, plus the other two gods to maintain threat density.

vs mono-black: rely on simic charms to blank their removal, and sac tokens to devour flesh. Use selesnya charms to take out desecration demons

Vs. burn: focus on life gain triggers, and maintaining board presence.

vs. monsters: kill big threats with selesnya charms

Deck discussion for Bantheon

This...this is beautiful...

I would see if I could put thassa Mainboard, because an unlockable voice of resurgence can be terrifying. It's like a spider that just disappeared from the corner.you thought it was scary before,.....

Yea, that is true. I was running a different version at a SCG IQ this weekend without the mystics and courser. Thassa was main board but her devotion was hard to get, as there were a bunch of control decks. The deck is as much about smashing their face with gods as anything else.

Deck went 3-1 (25th place) in a standard MTGO Daily (128 players). Defeated Rakdos Burn, R/G Monsters, and Mono-Black Devotion. Lost to a Selesnya agro deck.

Makes sense, unless you get the same Selesnya aggro cards too, this deck is basically fighting one department of itself.
