Deck discussion for nu-RDW

why the hell are you using eidolon in a mono red deck with nothing but 3 or less drops? and why are you using fetch lands in a mono red deck?

because eidolon is a bomb as soon as it enters the battlefield since your opponent will be restricted to the amount of low costing spells he can use! also they will need to burn a control spell to remove your eidolon which means its 2 granted dmg to your opponent! When you play a RDW you dont care if you win with 20lifepoints or 1lifepoint, what counts is the win you get! The fetch lands are an AWSOME addition to burn decks since it will increase the chances of getting a burn spell to burn your opponent since you are litteraly playing 2 lands a turn! also you can have a combo with searing blaze meaning you can have a land enter on their turn and deal 3 dmg to and annoying creature they have!
Hope it was useful ;)

Why would you waste a spot in a deck for a land that gets you another land for 1 less life and does literally the same thing, because it's ONE COLOR. also, I understand that 1 life or 20 life doesn't matter in a burn deck, and the idea of stopping them temporarily is fun, but when you can only play 9-10 spells before you die due to your own card, that does not seem very smart. So why is it necessary to add something that will kill you and something that can be a mountain? I still didn't see your point in it.

It also adds fuel for Grim Lavamancer. (the fetch in the graveyard that is). You can also use it to trigger the Landfall on Searing Blaze, which is very relevant.

Basically, what these guys said. :P

Eidelon is a BOSS. As long as you're ahead on life, and you should never not be with your early drops and burn, then the 2 damage you take is irrelevant as everything you do to them is 3+. It's also VERY awkward to deal with, dealing them 2 just to get rid of it most of the time.

Fetches are for Searing Blaze trigger, thinning (regardless of opinion) and finally Grim Lavamancer fuel. :)

We do not care about life here, we're racing and we're generally faster.

How would you like to gain 9 more creatures by essentially adding 3 more lands to this deck?
You would have to cut 3 cards to make it work, but let's say you cut 3 creatures, you'd actually net 6 extra creatures.

Go take a carefully look at my deck named a hastemare before Christmas. Ignore the deck itself, the true power of the idea is within the manabase.

Also, try to read the comments if you have the patience. There is a lot of details covered there on what the deck was designed for.
