Deck Description

Golgari Pump up that has been tweeked through play. Lotleth Troll pumped up, Essence Harvest to finish them off. A lot of Golgari decks are all over the place with cards and strats, this one is focused and succinct.

This deck has been done similarly a lot, but I feel most are lacking in one place or another. This deck is strong out of the gate and has powerful ramp to endgame. 4-5 turns max.

How to Play

First off, Slitherhead and Veilborn never get played, each adds +2/+2 to Lotleth Troll (Veilborn provided you have a swamp to lay down). Keep a swamp untapped for regen on troll and swing away. Essence Harvest to finsh them off.

Jarad, Wreath and two extra Salvage can be subbed in against mill decks. Anti enchantment/artifact in there as well. Predator Ooze could be swapped for a Troll if you like, hes just in there because I have one. Swap Sewer Shambler for Dreg against decks with black.

Deck has been tested and has only lost once in about 20 best of 3's.

Deck discussion for Golgari Pump up/ BUG: DGM

To start off, if your going ot run 2 colors you need atleast 4 of the duel lands. So my main suggestion would be to take away 2 forest and 2 swamps to add 2 more overgrwon tombs, and 2 woodland cemetary's. Also It seems you are working against yourself in this deck. Withe the ghoul caller, you are removing cards from your graveyard when you would want ot be scavanging them. Also this seems like it wants ot be an aggro deck, so let it be and add one more rancor. This is my deck, same colors just diffrent ideas. Its top 8ed twice in 2 weeks, and got 2nd last week. Good luck on your future decks my friend.

I would agree on the dual lands, but this is currently exactly what I run, only because I don't actually have any additional dual lands. I'd love to buy 4x Woodland Cemetery's!

While Scavenge is a big part of this deck, it's not the main source of power for the Lotleth's. The discard mechanic is and that is why Ghoulcaller is in there to work with the Veilborn Ghouls. I have only had to scavenge a Dreg Mangler once, and at that point the game was well past over and I was swinging for lethal. By turn 5 or 6, a Lotleth is usually around 8/8 or more, and Essence Harvest finishes off the player.

I've won 2 FNM's in the last two months playing this deck. I switch up between this deck, a blue/black Grim-grin Zombie deck and a new Boros/Angels deck I made.

I find Planeswalkers simply extend games when you have to spend mana to get them out when you could be playing offensive cards. Just a different style of play.

Awesome idea with the Essence Harvest, going to have to add it to my Golgari deck. Great way to do tons of dmg even if your creatures are getting blocked!
