Deck Description

This deck is based on a fringe-playable deck I first started playing in INN-GTC era Standard. The core of the deck is unchanged from its Standard incarnation, though it gains Kitchen Finks, Beast Within, Dismember, Vines of Vastwood, a better manabase, and 4 more copies of Rapid Hybridization.
Its nut draw is Evolve creature + Undying creature + Pongify/Rapid Hybridization, which can put 8 power into play as early as turn 2. It's important to note that to get full value, Undying/Persist must be stacked above Evolve once Pongify/Rapid Hybridization resolves, so that the Evolve trigger from the 2/2, 3/2, or 2/1 creature resolves before that from the 3/3 creature. Another interaction to be aware of is that if Experiment One regenerates in combat, any Undying or Persist triggers after damage will re-evolve it. The deck can also play a slower game using Rancor, Pongify effects, and the Undying/Persist creatures to grind through opposing removal. There are 17 instant-speed pieces of interaction which have applications against various tier decks, and all of which (except Dismember) can serve multiple purposes depending on the game state.
The above manabase is what I would consider close to optimal. Misty Rainforest, Breeding Pool, and a handful of basics are auto-includes, and the few non-Island blue sources serve to hedge against Choke. In my experience, Choke is the most common land hate card opponents will bring in against this deck. In a meta that's heavier on Blood Moon, more basic Islands and blue fetches should probably occupy those slots.
Some cards that didn't make the cut, but are worth consideration include Serum Visions, Prey Upon, Vapor Snag, Gitaxian Probe, Mutagenic Growth, Dispel, Spell Pierce, and a Sidisi's Faithful/Epochrasite/Collected Company package for the maindeck, as well as Echoing Truth, Ratchet Bomb, Engineered Explosives, Swan Song, Gut Shot, and Surgical Extraction for the sideboard.

A note on price:
Not counting lands, the main deck is under $100, so the manabase and sideboard can be adjusted based on individual collections/budgets to be very cheap and still reasonably competitive.
