Deck Description

This is a modern take on a classic Aristocrats style. It is highly aggressive, but your aim is to contain and control the board state. The amount of removal is to help eliminate threats as they appear, remove combo pieces before they can interact, and get around minor annoyances such as Chalice of the Void. Most of the removal is one or two mana, luckily however the new ruling on Split Spell's converted mana costs helps Wear//Tear to dodge the one or two-drop bullet. The bases of the deck surrounds Tokens meeting the field with a Sorin. Sorin's anthem and his +1 are huge assets to the token game, and to add some flavorful synergy I put in Falkenrath Aristocrat- a powerful flyer with haste who can become indestructible at instant speed and can even grow. Considering this, keeping in Soulfire Grandmaster and Gather the Townsfolk was an easy decision. There are plenty of humans to feed my vampires, and every spirit is a Selfless Spirit to her (pardon the pun). The removal also feeds Kalitas, making him an evermore threatening presence. A final tune to synergy was keeping in Bolts and Helixes with Soulfire Grandmaster- who effectively turns a Bolt into a Helix for one mana and turns a Helix into pay two deal three and gain six. Your life gain potential in this deck is really high, and should help to outlast current big meta decks like Abzan and Jund. Essentially, your life total is a pretty expendable resource.
