Deck Description

Board control deck.

Similar to the jund midrange builds, just with a bit more kill spells and a couple fewer creatures. Usually wants to play turn 2 Farseek and keep the board clean until you either gain card advantage with Garruk, Bonfire, or Olivia. Sire of Insanity is great once the boardstate is in your favor.

The deck also has potential to play ramp the first two turns and play a 5 drop (Thragtusk or Garruk) on turn three or a three drop (Nighthawk or Liliana) on turn 2.

I'll probably switch out the Victim of Night and maybe move the Dreadbore to sideboard in favor of Doom Blade when M14 rotates in.

Also considering moving the other Thundermaw and a single Bonfire to the sideboard for a couple more Huntmasters.

How to Play

Board in Slaughter Games against slower decks (and any random combo decks) and name Sphinx's, generally. Can also be used against Bant Hexproof, reanimator, and any decks running Restoration Angel.

Ground Seal is for reanimator, but is useful against decks that rely heavily on Snapcaster Mage.

Tribute to Hunger (as well as the third Liliana) is used against Bant Hexproof primarily, though I will board it in to help give me a little life gain against aggro.

The Abrupt Decay, Putrefy, and Nighthawk in the board just serve to give me a bit of versatility. If I see vampires, I'll board out Victim for another kill spell. If they play a fast deck, I'll board in Nighthawk for lifegain and Abrupt Decay for quick kills (while boarding out something like Mortars or Putrefy).

The Sire is just in case I play against a deck that wants card advantage more than me. (UWR Control, some midrange builds, etc) but I will likely board it in against any deck that's slower.

The Hellkite in the board is primarily for wiping Lingering Souls, but it's a pretty versatile bomb that can be boarded in whenever I feel like I need to win the game faster.
