Deck Description

Seriously , do you have a doggy door at your house? Those mutts run in and out all day long, just like the creatures in this deck. You might even say they do infinitely.

How to Play

You will notice the creatures in this deck replenish the mana that they cost when they get into play. You may also notice that as you cast creatures, they get cheaper, thanks to Animar. You will also notice things such as equilibrium, tidespout tyrant and cloudstone curio are very analogous to a doggy door.

Use cards like Brain Freeze, Grapeshot, Furious Assault, And Onslaught to kill all your opponents in one turn. Opposition is an awesome lockdown combination, but for it to be effective, use Aluren or Alchemist's Revenge. And if worse comes to worst, just start hitting opponents with infinite commander damage.

when it works, this deck is vicious. But if it doesn't work you're not going to be in the game long. For this reason I decided to forgo my standard refusal to include tutor spells. Also there is a lot of draw spells, including infinite lops for that. This deck can go off as early as turn 5. So just keep your head down for a few turns while you drop some mana, Animar, and a couple creatures. Use counterspells and bounce spells to make sure you get to that infinite loop.

Oh, and caged sun... Always blue.

Deck discussion for In & Out the Doggy Door

Crystal shard, Erratic Portal, Deadeye Navigator to go along with the great whale or not if you don't want to be "that guy" (the one who uses the infinite mana combo). It all kinda depends on how far you want to take the deck into the bottomless pool of no return, do you want to stand on the shore on the edge of oblivion or do you want to jump in? If you don't want to hold back then you could add mystic snake and counter nearly everything or draining whelk. Let's see, Venser, Shaper Savant is a good choice and you have access to red so why not add warstorm surge. Of course after I post the comment I realize all of those creatures are a bit expensive for what you are trying to do with the deck, I see that you are running aluren. I don't really want to delete the comment because there might be something here you can at least consider using.

Awesome advice. You are on point with a lot of your ideas. and crystal shard/ erratic portal are great replacements to a one time bouce spell. I have no idea how I forgot war storm. Unfortunately venser requires white. And I really wanted to get mystic snake in, but it really does not synergies as well as I wanted. And dead eye does not recast the spell so it misses on a lot of the synergies.

However, I assure you, this deck can swim in the bottomless pool. I going to work on getting some of those changes in there. Thanks. I appreciate the input.

Jester check on the venser that I was suggesting because you are thinking about the planeswaker, I am talking about the legendary creature that is only blue. Good luck with your deck and click on my user name so that you can check out and possibly leave a comment on one of my decks. Oh yeah, let me know if I can help you out any more.

Yes, I always forget that venser was a card before he was my favorite planeswalker. And yes he does fit incredibly well. Best part, he can return himself, so I can just drop him, return him, and drop him again.

It is also funny you said to check out your decks, I had just hit follow on your decks. It's good to see another edh player. I'm in the process of making one deck for every color combination. I'll be checking out your decks to see if there are any ideas to use. Thanks again for the advice.

This deck is going to be amazing when you get it tuned right, I am going to kinda copy 99% of your idea and drop this deck on my local playgroup and it's gonna blow up like a bomb or something. I was looking through my crap and came across 2 more cards that must find their way into this deck. Shrieking drake and elvish visionary, wait for it you also need to find a creature that deals one damage to a player when it comes into play. It's almost time for me to turn in so I will not look for it for you but I am sure it's out there. Now you have the power to ping someone to death, lol nice deck good sir. Oh yeah there be lots of edh players on this here site and they post lots of decks but it is very awesome to have a follower, I think you will be my first. You are taking on something very ambitious if you to want to build a deck of every color combination, good luck to you on that as well. I do appreciate you taking a look at my decks and if you find something that I am using in one of my decks that could help you out please feel free to use it in one of yours. Cheers

Need to look up a way to give all non instants in your deck flash, while you are at it look up a card called seedborn muse. Give me a little bit more time to think up more shenanigans for your deck and it will be pimp when I get finished with it.

I found blisterstick shaman, Ghitu Slinger, Keldon Marauders and Sparkmage Apprentice, check them out and let me know what you think. The deck is slowly but surely coming together.

ok, a few changes. all in an effort to make this deck succeed a little faster.
Removed: Cloud Key, Crystal Shard, Gruul cluestone, Izzet Cluestone, Simic Cluestone, Emrakul's Hatcher, Nest Invader, Rhystic Study, Howling Mine, Isochron Scepter, Dissipate, Izzet Boilerworks, Izzet Guildgate, Gruul Stomping Grounds, Grull Guildgate, Simic Growth Chamber, Simic Guildgate, Island x3, Dryad Arbor, Quiron Sentinel

Added: Blisterstick Shaman, Cascade Bluffs, Elvish Visionary, Firelit Thicket, Ghitu Slinger, Karplusan Forest, Kessig Malcontents, Rescue, Seedborn Muse, Shivan Reef, Shrieking Drake, Sol ring, Sparkmage Apprentice, Survival of the Fittest, Teferi, Mage of Zhafir, Foil, Thwart, Yavimaya Coast, Keldon Marauder, Ancient Ziggurat, City of Brass

Right now the dec frequently goes infinite on turn 6 or 7, a couple times on turn 5. However it requires a lot of parts so occasionally it comes close but falters before it can kill a table full of opponents.

Some of the lands and Survival of the Fittest are not in my collection, but if I can swing this deck to become a little more lethal, I think I may drop the bucks.

Yes, I was gonna tell you about the visionary but I was prolly being buried in cards and forgot. That is a very good choice though. Wow massive overhaul, I will look closer at the individual cards later but damn. A card that is not as good as survival is fauna shaman it might actually cost a little less money wise and if I remember correctly it does something similar. That's great that you have gotten it to go infinite and you are correct it does require a lot to make it happen but I would say it's worth it. Have fun with it if you decide to put it together, good luck and I am glad I am not in your playgroup because I would hate to die at the hands of this monster.

I Thought About That. It Is Solid, The Problem Is It Needs To Come out, Then I Have To Use it. It Really Did Not Speed Up The Deck Much When I Drew It. Its great When Im stalled Out Though. Am Thinking About Adding The R/G Kavu Creatures From The Invasion Block.

Thought I should leave this comment here instead of on Doran. That first comment was kind of random, I was about to respond to it way different but decided that I should be nice. He wanted me to solve mass creature wipe for him, for a second there I was at a loss.

So I think I am done fiddling with this deck. I eliminated a lot of things that helped secure board position. Honestly, when playing this deck I am going for the throat as quickly as possible, so I built thinking along the lines of building a modern or legacy deck.

22 cards got dropped, I forgot to write them down. But the things that went in on this go through:

Mox Opal, Lotus Petal, Lotus Bloom*, Chrome Mox, Memnite, Ornithopter, Phyrexian Walker, Shield Sphere, Wall of Blossoms, Fauna Shaman, Daze, Muddle the Mixture, Signal the Clans, Gamble, Command Tower (How did I miss this before?!), Forbidden Orchard, Darksteel Citadel, Great Furnace, Seat of the Synod, Tree of Tales

Lotus Bloom is not set in stone as they have yet to really make the difference I was hoping for, but I feel that in the right spot itmay be the card i need to win.

I have been dinkering around on a couple other decks while putting a lot of attention on this one. I will try and post some today.

Can't wait to see new deck (s). I like the idea of adding 0 mana cost arty creatures, I was considering doing that because I did not have the 0 mana cost red creatures you had in the deck before you changed it most recently ( you still might have those creatures in there I have not checked yet). I think they are cast even thought their mana cost is 0, I need to look that up. Yeah command tower I need to check to see if it's in my deck as well. Yeah on the mana rocks as well that seems like it could be a good idea, even thought I do run like 40 lands in my deck. I was going to add a wall of blossoms, the rest of the cards on the list there that I did not comment on I am not sure about what they do so I will look them up and I might get back to you on what I think about them.

I really like the use of signal the clans, I would pick it over the gamble. And it might have to find a way into my deck.

Just so you know he isn't on much anymore. I collaborated with jester on this deck and he did the same when I built mine. He is a darn good deck builder and knows his stuff when it comes to building a deck on a theme. I really like this deck as well and I feel like I can thank you for him for the comment.
