A central theme of beat down, but made to be adaptable. This is my first deck I've ever made in magic, though I knew the rules and played a friends green deck before.
Here are the highlights:
The Windbrisks, have great connectivity with the Pre-eminent captain and the mutavaults. They also let me bury a Jitte, if I already have one out.
Furthermore if I use ponder, I can follow it buy a Windbrisk if there is a particular card i'd like to hideaway, or if I don't want those two cards to be my next draw, but I want to pick up one of the initial three by ponder.
Ponder also let's me bury Jitte's, (since i can reshuffle and draw at random) it also allows me to get buy with fewer monsters and lands than other decks, and create combinations, such as getting a Captain of the Watch to my hand if I have pre-eminent captain in my hand.
Another Advantage lacing blue has done, has increased my side-decks strength, Meddling Mage has been the bane of many combo decks, as has mana leak. Lightning Greaves I've considered main decking, as I love their ability to be reequiped for free essentially negating any summon sickness for creatures. It's also a great card to side deck in, against deck with strong creature hate.
My only questionable options I've been considering is how to get back in the 1 harm's way and the 1 brave to elements, I think verse most decks they'll be very strong but it's hard to find a plce for them.
Perhaps take out two honor of the pures for them, i'm unsure. The cards are ridiculously powerful, very hard to decide.
Depending what type of deck i'm facing most of the time I end up cylcling out Goldmeadow, Jitte, Honor, Captain of the Watch, or Path to Exile, in echange for whatever I need from the side-board. Just depends whether they're creature based, or combo based, what are they doing etc... A lot of creature hate, then immediately, Greaves go in, and Brave the elements gets added. Dependign how they're killing the creatures Harm's way will likely go in. If one card in particular is devastating me, Meddling will hop in, and perhaps either Goldmeadow will go out, and captain, or gold meadow and jitte, to fit in the 4 mages.
It all depends on what I need.
