Deck Description

This is a deck I've been playing with for a few months now since the release of Born of the Gods. This is pretty much an aggressive combo deck and now thanks to the addition of Chord of Calling, has given me the incentive to change it up a little and make the combos a little bit more consistent.

Archangel of Thune, Prophet of Kruphix and Chord of Calling are the centrepieces of this deck. Archangel of Thune gives out +1/+1 counters to all of my creatures whenever I gain life, I run 4 Courser of Kruphix, 2 Horizon Chimera and 2 Nyx-Fleece Ram as my key ways to gain life to trigger Archangel's ability. Fathom Mage also sits in the deck as the perfect way to abuse the Archangel's ability, allowing me to draw a card each time a +1/+1 counter is placed on her. You can create an awesome almost infinite draw and life gain combo with these 3 cards Horizon Chimera + Archangel of Thune + Fathom Mage. So yeah thats what was pretty much all about before M15 came along.

But thanks to M15 I now have access to the insanity that is Chord of Calling. Chord allows me to setup my combo pieces a lot quicker, and thanks to Prophet of Kruphix, I can attack with all my creatures one turn and then still be able to Chord of Calling for an Archangel of Thune or Fathom Mage, during the opponents turn, due to simply being able to untap all of my permanents during their untap step. Prophet of Kruphix + Chord of Calling is simply amazing. So Archangel of Thune pumps my team, as well as itself thanks to having Lifelink; Courser of Kruphix, Horizon Chimera and Nyx Fleece Ram (and even to a lesser extent Ajani Steadfast thanks to his +1 ability being great when thrown onto a Nyx Fleece Ram), are all great ways to trigger the Angels ability, Fathom Mage is the one who allows us to reap the benefits, by drawing us out our deck and Prophet of Kruphix and Chord of Calling add just the little bit of extra consistency it needed.

As for the sideboard, the deck can turn from this Aggressive Combo based strategy into more of a control deck, the best thing about Chord of Calling is that it allows you to throw in some amazing creatures into the deck to make a small kind of toolbox. therling is a must side in the control match ups, if they have removal then you side this guy in, 8 mana seems like a lot but thanks to Prophet you can Chord him out of the deck and be ready to beat face. Voice of Resurgence is a great Chord of Calling target against U/W Control decks and Mono Black, being able to search him out of the deck when in fear of a Hero's Downfall is great.Reclamation Sage is simple, yet great, with the whole past block being based around enchantments, you're guaranteed to have at least one thing to kill in each game. Chord into Sage for 6 mana to get a 2/1 and destroy an Underworld Connections is pretty decent, she's easily main deck playable but for now she stays in the side. Scavenging Ooze allows you to get full value against opposing kill spells, it gains you life to trigger Archangel and it can to into a pretty big fatty pretty quickly.

So yeah thats pretty much the key parts of the deck, let me know what you think of it down below, as well as any suggestions for improvements.
