Deck Description

Whelming Wave is the shit. You have three types of creatures in this deck. Creatures that gain value from being replayed, creatures that accelerate, and creatures that are unaffected by whelming wave. The only creatures that fit the last category are Nimbus Swimmer and the tokens from Kiora, but that's okay. In the mean time, accelerate like mad. Then once you wave it up, drop prophet of cupcakes. Then you unload your hand as fast as possible, and maybe counter their shit. If you managed to drop Kiora first, you're in for a thrill. You have the ability to drop more creatures faster than them, many of them with fat butts, and may get to ultimate her. Then your Waves are even better!

If you can't find a Whelming Wave, Cyclonic Rift does an excellent (and debatably better) imitation. You need to play the ramp game and power out some back breaking things like huge Nimbus Swimmers or Sylvan Primordials.

My first draft of the deck was excellent against every style of midrange and aggro, but lost to control. I've since put some white in to try and gain card advantage from some ridiculous Azorius spells. You can draw a lot of cards off Ephara, hopefully helping you not simply scoop to those playing Supreme Verdict. Another version of this deck is BUG for Golgari Charm, again to fight Supreme Verdict. W/U control players are by far your most difficult opponent, and half your sideboard is devoted to them. But between the Rootborn Defenses, Advents, and Kiora, you should be able to put up a fight. And everything else should be easy... Happy playing!

How to Play

Play Whelming Wave, accelerate out of it faster than your opponent with Prophet of Cupcakes. Kiora likes the Wave too, it gives her time to build up to her incredibly badass ultimate. You can also ramp a decent bit here, and should try to if you draw a Sylvan Primordial or Nimbus Swimmer. BTW Whelming Wave doesn't hit Swimmer and you just gain more value off playing Sylvan Primordial twice.

Courser of Cupcakes is good but a little challenging to play. In a deck with so many instants he can sometimes be a disadvantage for the opponent to see what's coming, but his card advantage is pretty great so I play him. Remember, you only get value off of him if you play every land you can from the top of your deck.

Deck discussion for Simic Waves

I was waiting to see a deck like this, i was expecting more of the wave creature types but you dont exactly have a lot of options. Maybe you should try out tromokratis, you have enough ramp to get him out turn 5 or so and hes immune to many types of removal. Let me know what you think.

You know I don't like Tromokratis. The word "Hexproof" is on him, but it doesn't really mean it. Like half the removal spells people play are instant speed. But maybe I'll put him in the sideboard for if I think someone's not running enough removal.
