How to Play

If you don't get it, imagine using Fated Infatuation on Mnemonic Wall. Pay UUU, put a 0/4 token on the field, get an ETB trigger... Get Fated Infatuation back. You can do this as many times as you want. At instant speed. And if you do it on your turn, you get to scry 2 in the process. But that's not all. If you use a Progenitor Mimic on the Mnemonic Wall, you return a instant or sorcery to your hand every turn without paying anything, which can lead to degenerate things like Cyclonic Rifting everything for the rest of the game, or generating huge card advantage with Azorius Charm. What's more, cards like Rootborn Defenses or Druid's Deliverance are forever reusable, as long as you have already have a Mnemonic Wall token.

If you don't draw Mnemonic Wall, no sweat. Since you run a metric shit ton of defenders, Axebane Guardian basically assumes second in command, helping you ramp into a huge Revelation or overload Cyclonic Rift. The idea is usually then to protect Kiora and ride her to victory. You will probably have a Fated Infatution or Progenitor Mimic anyways. Never hesitate to use an Infatution on another creature initially, as you will just get it back if you draw the Mnemonic Wall later. The Progenitor Mimic is not very useful without the Wall though, so don't use it on a different creature unless you're really running out of options.

The main problem for the deck is Detention Sphere. This card does very bad things to an army of Wall tokens, so you should board in all of your Gainsays against players who use it. Something else I am considering to address this issue is Sundering Growth. You can also use Cyclonic Rift on the Sphere to temporarily get your Wall back and therefore return the Rift back to you. They replay the Sphere, you rebounce the Sphere. This turns into an obnoxious little game where both of you keep replaying your cards until you draw a second Mnemonic Wall or Progenitor Mimic and then you will start getting an extra Sorcery or Instant out of every time you bounce the Sphere.

Something that would shore up my weakness against control is any other creature that is bonkers when you start copying it, but I don't see another one with defender that is quite what I'm looking for, and I was trying to stick to that subtheme. I have considered Sylvan Primordial quite a bit and it may still make it in there.

If your meta is light on U/W control, I highly recommend taking this deck for a spin. It often dominates other matchups and is super fun!

Mind of I make a version of this? I'm looking for something new and fun for standard until rotation kicks the mast of the good cards out. I was running black white mega extort with the new god to keep my cheap extortion team coming back but it's not much fun and everyone hates you for playing it.

Man you make whatever you want. Keep in mind rotation is really only a couple of months away though, so try to play cards that will mostly survive it. All you really need is Mnemonic Wall and Fated Infatuation, and they'll survive. But other than that, you may have to get creative. You could try it with Twinflame, I've been meaning to do that!

I'm looking for some practical ramp. That's gonna be the big killer. Might go BUG to help give me some cool things to recur with the wall. The green is the source of mana and blue will help me control. Inthink this deck will be one of the areas where I can probably do better with black in the deck for creature removal. Probably gonna work on it tomorrow. The old guy I'm keeping is axebane though. He's too good to let go in a deck where you have to make triple blue happen.
