Thanks for commenting on my pirate deck! This deck of yours looks fun to play. I might recommend Rift Bolt in place of either Tarfire or Shock, as it does 3 damage for 1 (suspended) red mana, albeit at sorcery speed.

ruby medallion does nothing for you here, because it does not reduce the cost of any of your spells D:

so, you should take that out and add in some more burn!

Since they're all one drops, I'd reduce the number of lands and max out your chronomatons and ulvenwald trackers. Maybe even add a couple more creatures. I really like the deck, though -- I may try something similar myself!

And even though she's anorexic, Hero of Bladehold is showing some skin

Since it's T2, you may want to consider Venser and the Titans for late game.

Splinterfright is probably the best card you could have for feeding your Cagebreakers. Another good card would be Mulch (over Caravan Vigil).

Thanks for pointing that out...that sounds like a good idea

Obviously, but it's an instant and can kill a creature if need be. I did add Flame Rift, though -- thanks!

Flame Javelin is so good, though ... I'd rather keep that one

In place of what? Needle Drop, perhaps?

Why is Figure of Destiny better? I love him and use him in my Kithkin deck, but to reach a nice size, you either have to have three lands or six lands out simultaneously. With the Dragonlord, you can pay as much as you want at a time -- so it'd be perfectly feasible to get him to 8/8 flying, trample with only four lands out over two turns if you so choose.

And if that wasn't enough (which it was), Grove of the Burnwillows is one of the most beautiful cards ever!

Burnwillows allows you to bring back Punishing Fire repeatedly ... Arid Mesa is just to thin out the deck

I agree with the Myr Enforcer as a possibility because it has Affinity ... the others, I think, are a little bit too slow. The deck should be winning super fast -- that's the point of this sort of deck.

this is not helpful ... do you have a specific suggestion?

Another option would be U/W with Sygg, which would let me have some removal in there as well ... I tried doing that for a legacy deck but it sucked majorly. I like your idea for modern, though (if that's what you were thinking, anyway).

First off, his is legacy and this is supposed to be modern. Second off, many merfolk decks run really similar cards because, well, they are the best. So, I apologize for having similar ideas to you? I don't know what you want me to say -- I didn't even see yours before making this.
