Deck Description

Aggressive Control if there ever were such a thing. :) I've been having a lot of success with this deck lately. I'm curious if any experienced modern players have any insight or suggestions to offer me. I will add that the deck doesn't hing on my Scepters for the win. There just really fun and most times after game 1 my opponent sides in a bunch of artifact hate which I just play around.

How to Play

Fast or methodical, depending on the match up. It's especially fun to cast /Development for 2 mana from your scepter.

Deck discussion for Delver's Jeskai Scepter

I like the idea but I feel like this deck runs better with just Izzet colors. Red Sun's Zenith can exile dudes for you with enough mana and Lightning Helix can be replaced with any two-drop you prefer that also does multiple cool things, like Magma Jet. But hey, if it runs smooth enough for your liking, who am I to try and stop you from getting to pull some crazy jank-ass shit with this deck? Good deck, man!

Thanks for taking the time to look it over. It does play very well in fact I took 1st last week at Modern night beating Merfolk in 2, Affinity in 2, Pod in 3 and Tron in 3 for the overall win. I've changed the sideboard on here to reflect reality (LOL) properly. It gives a bit more insight for the use of white which I've found to be very beneficial in my local Meta game. :) Happy casting

This is awesome, you have plenty of options to suit what your up against and not many people will be expecting to get burnt out whilst playing around control. Have you thought about play testing remmand? I think it will work well with burn because the card draw lets you maintain tempo

Thanks for the remand suggestion. :) I put ti in and it won me the match last night by drawing into a crucial Lightning Helix.

I'm not a big fan of Keranos in modern it's just a bit to slow at 5 mana. I only have Research // Development in here as a one of B/C I can cheat it out on a scepter and cast Development for 2. (4 if you count putting the scepter out) I may try to dig up an Ajani Vengeant, it does seem like this deck caters to him. Thanks for taking the time to look it over. :)

ghost quarter shouldnt work that well in a triple colored deck, especially when the land choices are already limited to modern, so you miss out on some of the better duel lands.

serum visions seems like a waste to me. sure it triggers the sorcery qualification, but other than that it doesnt do much for you.

snapcaster mage would work wonders in this deck. i might consider running him over delver, as delver is good early game but will probably run out of steam.

they actually printed a better version of lightning angel. its called mantis rider. ridiculously good in a deck like this. crazy fast damage that is hard to stop.

here is my modern scepter build http://www.mtgvault.com/dknight27/decks/modern-tournament-scepter/

Mantis rider is cool but lightning angel is not bad either since its boltproof! Id keep it as 1 off

Serum visions works nice with delver, i would suggest 4 visions. Because of the scry effect you can make sure the delver flips next turn

Oh ya oops, last time I went to play with this I switched out the Digs for 2 more Serum Visions. It slipped my mind to update here.

The Development seems to just be a cantrip, and I'm not sure that is 100% what you want, Geist of St Traft, Brimaz and Thundermaw slow you down, but give you that reliability to beat those chunky abzan decks, restoration angel is very good to support dodging removal and can act as a removal spell, it's an all round all star
