Hi, yeah most of the games when I have a chance to cast spellshock always ends up as a win. It's somewhat better than sulfuric vortex when it comes to inflicting damage as fast as you can. Most of the time whenever I drop it, the opponent ends up with 8 or less lives left. It's definitely a good lockdown against control decks or any decks that casts multiple spells per turn. Since my spells only damages the opponent directly giving him/her at least 3 damage, the 2 damage I receive from spellshock is not really a big deal. Thus, it only shortens the number of spells he/she can cast. Barbarian ring and grim lavamancer also gives a good synergy once I have spell shock on the field.

Sensei's divining top is just alright. But sometimes even it's useless because most of the cards are good to cast whenever you draw them.

I also put in Ball lightning since it also gives me a good chance to kill my opponent's creatures. I'm still thinking if Goblin guide would be good to add though.

Chaos warp was really good. But I didn't have a chance to grab a commander deck. It was already sold out on MTG stores here. >.<

Btw, I really liked your persist deck! It looked fun to play!

Hello Mursh! I have also a Goblin that I'm planning to make. Up to now, I can't decide if I should pursue making the Mill deck. It's good but bores a hole in your wallet.
I think a good goblin deck would be competitive against most types of deck.
Here's the link to my goblin deck:

I don't have enough budget to buy Goblin lackey that's why I put it on my sideboard list.

P.S. I really need suggestions from you...

Wow! This would be scary especially when you pulled out those creatures early. Love those flyers and unblockable creatures. Limewire lash + rebound ability is really good.

btw, here's my pure control with a lil infect:

thanks!

I just found out that you left a comment on this deck. I just created it here but I dont have this deck in real life. Because im pretty much aware that its banned in legacy. I just tried how fast it was. My current deck is this:
http://www.mtgvault.com/DrawSimulator.aspx?DeckID=191062
But it is pretty much having a hard time against control blue decks.

hope you could share thoughts about it. I'm also planning to make a U/B mill deck but i'm still having thoughts if it is really worth giving a try. I jut want to run decks that could actually win fast and is fairly consistent. Like the burn deck.

Hi again^^. I don't think its a good Idea to add sulfuric vortex.
-2 Sulfuric Vortex
-1 Price of Progress

+1 Nevinyrral's Disk
+1 Ensnaring Bridge
+1 Pithing Needle

Against Dark Depths, better use 4 pithing needle. It's better if you could delay him/her as much as possible. Good luck! Btw, when will be your tourney?

I'm not sure but I also think you could use Blood moon or Magus of the Moon in your sideboard. If you happen to cast it before the dark depths comes out, then you would probably win the game since most of Dark depths deck uses nonbasic lands. But I think if you use Blood moon/Magus of the Moon, you would probably need some mana accelerators too. Can you post the final card list of your deck so that maybe I could help you in fixing your sideboards? Thanks

Ow, I forgot you are using Quest of Pure Flame. So maybe Chain of Plasma would actually work good on your deck. It's cool I'm really learning from you too. By the way I tried using Aether Flash before because I'm worried about aggro decks. It usually work especially if I could cast it at 2nd or 3rd turn using mana accelerators but if you happen to drop it at your 4th turn it sometimes became a little too late and end up being useless at all. But it is a lot of fun.

When competing against Dark depths deck, maybe you should have pithing needle as your sideboard. Who knows, it may become handy against other type of decks. Hope you could do good on your tourney. Update us too about it. Good luck and More power!

Wow that looked like a scary deck because of the Sensei's Divining top. But for some reason I think this one is more fun to play than your new burn deck. I don't know, but I think you could encounter some problems regarding using shrapnel blast. It would be hard to use it if you have 10 artifacts only in the deck. Maybe you could just add the Sensei's Divining Top here and remove Browbeat and wheel of fortune.

I also loved Mogg Fanatic before but it changed when the new m10 rulings was implemented. Besides that, on an opening hand, for example, if you have 3 1-to-cast burn spells and 1 mogg fanatic, I think you would give those 1 to cast burn spells priority since you are aiming to deal massive amount of damage as soon as possible. Keldon Marauders is still a very well-rounded creature card for a burn deck.

Regarding the usage of Quest for Pure Flame, if you really want to use it, maybe you could just remove Leyline and put in Needle Drop. It does the same thing as Leyline, it is easy to cast, it builds up as a combo piece for Quest for Pure Flame, it wouldn't be a problem if you didn't have it at the opening hand, and it let you draw a card. A good cantrip indeed.

Strip the Nevinyrral's disk down to 3, and add 1 more Flamebreak or change flamebreak to breaking point. (I use Volcanic Fallout just to ensure I could still deal damage to flying creatures, deal extra damage onto the opponent, and to protect the Marauders too).

Consider adding barbarian rings too. Magma Jets are really helpful because of its Scry.

I'm glad I could exchange thoughts with you, because I also do some tweaks with my burn deck from time to time. And I also want it to become even better. Thanks a lot.
P.S. I don't use Mana Accelerators anymore. >.<

Have you tried adding Mana accelerators? I also have a burn deck and I added 4 Rite to flame. It's good if you have it at your opening hand. It becomes quite useless if you already cast all of your burn cards in your hand and end up drawing mana accelerators. So, I'm planning to remove it but does this happens to you too? I haven't tried Simian Spirit guides though. Would you recommend adding mana accelerators?

I also have a question about Quest for Pure Flame, is it that really effective? I think its good if you got it at your opening hand, in that way you could do double damage at turn 4, but if you have drawn it at your 3rd turn onwards, it became useless too since you are 2-3 spells away from winning. If you remove it, you might want to consider removing leyline of lightning too.

I used Ball lightning before but it end up being blocked by 2/2, 3/3, 4/4 creatures. You're lucky if you caught your opponent off-guard dealing him/her with 6 damage. But still, it is too susceptible to creature destruction and yields an average of 3 damage most of the time. 3 damage for 3 mana cost is quite good but I'd rather cast a 1 or 2 to cast burn spell so I removed it. Keldon Marauders is quite stable already.
