Deck Description

[u]Basic Idea[/u]
At the moment I'm in a testing offensive for some of my pauper decks, and as mono black control is one of the archetypes in pauper, that survived year after year, I had to add one to my testing-list. So this is my take on a mono black control deck.

[u]Tests[/u]
This is one of the decks I'm using as benchmark, to test my other Pauper decks against, the result for each test are recorded in a google-document spreadsheet and added to the description of each of my pauper decks. If you're interested in details from the spreadsheet, feel free to ask.

I'm open to all suggestions and ideas that may help to improve this deck.

How to Play

Removal and discard will keep the threats on the battlefield on your side. [[Cuombajj Witches]] serve as devotion-enabler for [[Gray Merchant of Asphodel]] and as continuos removal for small creatures. Combine the witches with [[Eternal Thirst]] or [[Unexpected Fangs]] and you got yourself a walking removal that gains you 1 life every time you shoot a 1/1.
Gray Merchant, [[Tendrils of Corruption]] and [[Unexpected Fangs]] help to keep you alive and fill up your life from drawing cards with [[Sign in Blood]] or [[Phyrexian Rager]]

Deck discussion for monoB Pauper: Control

Cast Down isn't Pauper, (I think) but might I recommend Hideous End instead?

Thank you for the suggestion.
I was unsure of that myself, but saw it in another pauper deck and thus looked at the official gatherer. It was released in Double Masters (which is still missing on Vault) as common.
