Deck Description

Some legends just refuse to be forgotten!

This is a Budget Elder Dragon Highlander deck (BEDH for short). It is meant for the Elder Dragon Highlander format, a.k.a. Commander. If you are not familiar with the format, I'll link it below for you.

I mostly use MTG Vault for my own private projects nowadays, but feel free to comment or request a deck of your choice. I've loved the Vault so far, and I like that they are still improving on it, as well as I am improving on my English language skills.

So, if you like what you see, consider checking out some of my other budget-y work from the link below.

How to Play

This website cannot view the card Kongming, "Sleeping Dragon" correctly. I've linked it below for your convenience. Kongming's medium price trend was between 0.22-0.32 dollars on the American market at the moment of this deck's creation.

Ratadrabik is quite an interesting commander: he can transform your legendary dudes into non-legendary zombies upon death, and even grant them vigilance on top of that! How can you squeeze some sweet synergy out of them? Let's find out!

Well, the obvious part is that you'll need both methods of sacrifice, as well as legendary creatures. This deck runs quite a lot of both! Many of the legendary creatures are meant to provide you with some extra card advantage upon entering, some group buff or even some snappy synergies with tapping abilities! Let's look at some:
- Ellyn Harbreeze can provide you with some constant card advantage while on the field. Just keep spamming those zombies!
- Gonti can grab cards from your foes multiple times. Nice!
- Mangara can be sacrificed, then the token can be used to exile any permanent!
- Barrowin and Nadaar can offer you some interesting Dungeon-delving subthemes!
- Visara can both attack, then destroy a creature. Thanks vigilance!

Cons:
- A bit slow to get started.
- All this deck's functions are tied to Ratadrabik. Don't lose them!

Deck discussion for BEDH: Legends Live On

There are some cards that specifically strengthen legendary creatures:
[[Heroes' Podium]], The Circle of Loyalty, Day of Destiny

[[Avacyn's Memorial]] (1$-6$) makes legendary permanents indestructible.
Robaran Mercenaries gets all abilities from your legendary creatures.
The flip planeswalkers from Magic Origins could be worth a look: Liliana, Heretical Healer
[[Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle]] or Yomiji, Who Bars the Way can help you to get some legendaries back from the grave after a board wipe.
Tatsunari, Toad Rider

Access to blue would be a cool thing, so you could add Leyline of Singularity. But sadly this doesn't fit your commanders colour identity.
