I hear ya north about no one caring about duel decks. However you were the reason i started my duel deck series, even though no one really cares ill still make them. Any way i like the plant tribal mtg needs to make more plant cards. North if you get time can you make a mono black control deck based on painful quandery.

overgrown battlement over vine trellis?

Agree with this one :)

I would also suggest a tad more land ramp, such as Rampant Growth and Khalni Heart Expedition.

was guna say the same thing. overgrown is so good, and drop rangers path for any of harrow, kodamas reach, rampant growth, growth spasm, cultivate, ext

*Sees that Overgrown Battlement is one heck-of-a-badass card*
"Okay. I adding that one."

*Sees that Overgrown Battlement is NOT a plant*
"What a fu%&!"

Some of your cards aren't plants. They just should be.

If you really want a plant deck, pop in mirror entity!

But that's pretty horribly priceful... Isn't Avenger of Zendikar enough good Plant Lord?

I just wanted all your creatures to be plants =).

for overgrown. the non-plant thing is overshadowed by the fact that on turn 4 you can have 14 playable mana

Overgrown is great. Wizards should have printed it with a plant type, that's all.

Sadly, no .... but carnivorous plant looks a lot like the Venus flytrap.

Sylvan Caryatid is just far far far beyond the "budget" basis of this deck series at about 7$ a pop with how popular it is in Standard at the moment, Zaklax13 :P

Oh yeah, I'm dying to get some myself but without the Coursers of Kruphix which are like 15$ a pop it's not worth it :-/

doesn't every green deck need rancor in it?

2
Posted 12 June 2014 at 06:25

No every green deck does not. Yes ever green deck should have it for shits, giggles, and lulz.

2
Posted 12 June 2014 at 06:36

I just love seeing the hate in an opponents eyes when they kill a creature with multiple rancor on it and u get them all back and put them out on another creature

2

Kinda like the look when you pull of a crazy lifegain stunt a have over 50 life. When they realize that you can trade them 2 damage for 1 and still win. Or that you are gaining more life than they can deal damage.

1
Posted 12 June 2014 at 06:48

yep that's always good to, love having a playset of wellwishers in an elf deck u get 2 out and suddenly u have 100 life

That's awesome. I must try this.

1

I would ditch the Avenger and Boundless Realms (also the Towers) in favour of splashing black for 4 Vulturous Zombie. This change would solve some of the problems this deck has, probably double the win percentage AND make the deck cheaper, budgetwise.

That's... That's probably true... *sigh*
Though it breaks my heart to remove the old good avenger.

Oh my, poor Avenger! Oh well, it's for the best.

Man Dragon, what did you say?!

2
Posted 13 June 2014 at 07:16

I am sorry for the Avenger, but this is solely due to the budget restrictions. I personally love to have a single high casting cost "boss" type of guy in my casual decks, so, if it wasn't for the budget rules (or if the Avenger would be less expensive), I would have suggested him myself :)

I dunno , i said great for the most part , maybe said have a look at a deck, i guess saying a nice deck is wrong i dunno

1

The problem is advertising your own decks without contributing to the deck you are spamming to, Dragon77. I bet you didn't even read the decklist before commenting "nice deck" ...

1

Nice deck, can you check out mine:

blah blah, blah blah blah blah ....

Don't be that mean, Dragon just wanted to have someone look at decks. I understand how frustrating it is. At least you didn't resort to insulting people to have them notice your decks (not naming anyone ...)

Well, he spammed my decks, too, with the same message. In repsonse, he got voted down, a reasonable thing to do, right? And I just explained to him what happened.

It seems perfectly reasonable. So is the rebellion of robots in Isaac Asminov. =).

Seriously, it's fine by me if you warned him before. Not that my opinion matters ... this is NorthernWarlord's deck, so it's really up to him and his readers. Knowing him, he would check the deck out if he had time.

I would have went G/W with Phytohydra instead of B/G with Vulturous Zombie. Idk why but I've always loved Phyto.
