Deck Description

Fun strategy with Elvish Piper, all that you need - draw some fat creature, and put it without manacost)

How to Play

-You need Elvish Piper, then you can cast Emrakul, the Aeons Torn or Worldspine Wurm without manacost.

-Save Elvish Piper by giving hexproof to it, and return it from graveyard with your instant spells.

-Use Fauna Shaman to find Elvish Piper or fat creature. You can discard Emrakul, the Aeons Torn or Worldspine Wurm - and they will return into library!

-If your opponent haven't any creatures with flying, you can remove Deadly Recluse and add something what you want. If your opponent have some lifelink, add Creature from sideboard.

Deck discussion for Elvish Piper - Manacost? No thx

I like this deck. Elvish Piper is a classic. Lovely little Elf Shaman. I am guessing with the Archers and Recluse you are playing against people who use cards with flying?

Take out Death's Presence. Take out Archers. Add in 4 Llanowar Elves.

I would have a search engine for Elvish Piper. I mean, you need a way to get the card in your hand every game. Fauna Shaman would do that. She cost 2 mana. Tap her and 1 green mana, discard a creature card, and search your deck for Elvish Piper and put it into your hand. In theory, if you have her in your opening hand, you can have Elvish Piper in your hand by turn 3. You can also Tap Fauna Shaman, after you have got Elvish Piper in play, and search for your powerhouse cards to put into play via Piper. I definitely recommend running 4 copies of her in this deck.

I think, I could be wrong, but let's say you pay 1 green mana and tap Fauna Shaman and discard Worldspine Wurm to search for Elvish Piper, I am pretty sure the Wurm gets gets shuffled right back into your library. That is neat! You really aren't losing a creature to search for the Piper!

I would drop aspect of mongoose for 2 spawnsire of ulamog, kozilek, butcher of truth, and ulamog, the infinite gyre. Then sideboard a bunch of other eldrazi guys and go to town.

The Aspect is there to protect the Piper (I guess). Without him, no ElNazis.

Only sad part about using Piper to bring in Tetacruel is you don't get his 'take an extra turn after this one' effect :(

I've refused to call the card by its actual name, instead I call it Tentacruel :P

Eternal Witness maybe could work. She is a 2/1 creature that has Wildwood Rebirth built in. She might be better than Wildwood Rebirth. Your call on that one.

One or two Quicksilver Amulet could be a nice backup to the Piper

That's what I just wanted to write. Instead of trying to keep the Pipers alive with Aspect of Mongoose, I would add Quicksilver Amulets.

too much mana, 4 to cast and 4 to spawn from hand, and i cant protect it with hexproof. Piper 4 mana, 2 for protect and 1 for spawn. but i will add it in sideboard

Well, Piper has summoning sickness and can't be actiavted the turn it comes into play. So, if you have 4-6 mana it doesn't matter if you have a Piper or Amulet, in both cases you will have to wait a turn. But if you manage to have 8 mana, you can use the Amulet right away. You might be able to protect the Piper, on the other hand a 1/1 creature is way more fragile than an artifact (everybody runs creature removal but not much artifact removal).

Besides, we don't mean to replace Piper with Amulet. Amulet should be in the deck as an alternative way to put your stuff into play. And if you have that, you don't need the Aspect anymore. Don't forget that Piper + Aspect are two cards you need, Amulet is only one.

Amulet is also a good sideboard option against decks that are heavy on creature removal.

Why limit this to Emrakul and Worldspine Worm? I'd add a bit more diversity in your large creatures especially since you aren't hard casting Emrakul (because you aren't hardcasting you can't get the extra turn). Like Elderscale Worm, Darksteel or Brightsteel Colossus, or other large green/artifact creatures with some killer perks. It may not be mono green but here is my version of your deck:

http://www.mtgvault.com/pjoshea/decks/fat-ass/

The other thing I'd add is that you need some way to search your deck for creatures so you have acess to your big hitters exactly when you need it. That and speed, the faster your deck runs the faster you get out your big hitters and the less your opponents can do about it.

Path to Exile, Maze of Ith, Pacifism, Magus of the Moat, Tragic Slip, Ixidron, Humility, there is so much stuff you can do to stop a Colossus. Even better yet, you could STEAL him with something like Control Magic or Ray of Command etc.
It's just that people tend to keep their decks simple and single-minded with not many options to adapt to the opponent. But the tools are out there, you just need to include them into your decks. Not because of the odd chance that you'll face a Colossus but because of the considerably big chance that your opponent will have *something* up his sleeve that you can't handle with your ordinary Terminate or whatever you are running.
