Deck Description

I was hoping to build a viable Standard-Legal Vamp deck but had no such luck, here's what I came up with. Thoughts?

Deck discussion for B/R Vamps

you guys should really drop the rakish heirs in your BR vamp decks. it's just not that reliable. i mean, sure it does have nice utility, but don't expect your opponent to just sit back and let you rack up the +1+1 counters. rakish heir can easily be taken out with some instant spot removal.

i would drop the set of rakish heir and get 2 more stromkirk captains instead. then, drop the vamp nocturnus 'cause you aren't playing mono black, and a transformed bloodline keeper with a stromkirk captain in play is already good support for your other vamps. also, get another half set of stromkirk noble, 'cause that's the best one drop for BR vamps.

you can also get away with just having 2 olivia voldarens in deck, 'cause if you intend to run an aggro deck, the game wont last long enough for you to use her to her fullest.

i'd suggest throwing in fervor, so that if you set one down on turn three, you can put down a bloodline keeper on four and tap for a token right away, or any other creature you have can swing for that matter.
you'll also need some card draw, so try to throw in sign in blood. you'll get your life back from nighthawk anyway.

I made some changes based on your thoughts, which I feel helped a lot. I decided to take advantage of red a bit to speed up my deck. Since I removed Vampire Nocturnus I also removed the Sphere of the Suns considering my most expensive card is now only 4 cmc.

I would have gone with fervor if it cost 1 less to cast but I wasn't sure I could justify it for 3, I'm sure I'll end up being wrong and adding it in. I may also sideboard a couple of the Rakish Heirs in the future. I'm excited to see how I fair tonight at FNM, thanks for your suggestions, let me know what you think of my changes!

Surprisingly it worked pretty well I won 3/5 matches and 7/12 games. I would have taken another game if I had payed attention to the Bump in the Night in my graveyard, it was a close one though.

My biggest problem was the lightening bolt in my deck which, as it turns out is the only card I failed to check for tournament legality. (Whoops!) I'll probably throw in some burn or tragic slip a bit later to fix my screw-up.
