Deck Description

I have a B/G modern infect that I want to play in tournaments, but it is not up to scratch to even compete against these multi-hundred to singular-thousand dollar decks. I want it to be fairly budget BECAUSE I don't have a lot of moniez at hand to spend on $50 cards, but I do understand that I will need $10+ lands in here

Hopefully one day soon I can go out and build it
PLEASE NOTE: The cards that you suggest need to SEE TOURNAMENT PLAY

How to Play

Cheap 1/1 infect creatures
Massive ramp
Turn 2-5 win

I'll think about it!
Do they see any tournament play? If they do then i'll heavily consider them

When did you post that?
I've used Disfigure before, and its a good one

-1

i didnt suggest dismember earlier, blackrazz did. yeah, dismember is a good card for cheap mana, but you also need the option for getting rid of those big problems you may encounter too.

Take a look at http://www.mtgvault.com/muktol/decks/monog-infect/ and take what you like.
It's an infect deck with possible turn 2 kills.

Most of these cards I know of, and they're TOO SLOW!
My most tournament like infect has only 4 things with cmc of 3 AND they're Phyrexian Crusaders; that some would consider OP because of all the abilities.
I will try to look at your decks, but I may not be able to get anything from them

My main goal is a turn 2-5 win, not turn 4-8 massive creatures......
Sorry! Although, I have a deck with those types of cards in it:

Then maybe go blue and add in Blighted Agent and/or Aqueous Form. Idk, i'm not all that amazing at making tournament level decks. i just make decks for fun :P

If you add Blue, you can also add tap spells and unblockable spells to sneak past your opponent's creaures. I would highly consider it, if I were you.

0

Yeah, I see your point. But, IF I have Blighted Agent on the field, then there's really nothing that they can do (not saying for 100% of the time) before I ramp it
Unsummon could be a good quick removal. I'll consider

also, some hexproof could be nice, like Mask of Avacyn or Swiftfoot Boots

Vines of Vastwood and Ranger's Guile

0

Mask of Avacyn gives hexproof for longer than 1 turn though. and it gives +1/+2 for longer than 1 turn, rather than +1/+1 and hexproof for 1 turn. also, it doesn't matter what color mana you get, you can still play it. but using it as a reaction spell is very nice, i do like that part about it.

Problem is that it's an equipment. Not only do I have to cast it, I then have to equipt it. And THAT's a problem, although I see your point!

-1

I may hate Infect, but you are obviously desperate. So I'll help you for now.
4 Vines of Vastwood - for heavy buff AND protection from removal spells
4 Artful Dodge - to make them Unblockable AFTER you buff them up further
4 Tradgic Slip (sorry if I misspelt this one) - to remove one of/their only creature if you can/if something dies and you want to get rid of it
4 Pyhrexian Cruisader (sorry again if I misspelt this one)
Consider - 4 Blight Mamba
I do agee with 4 Ichorclaw Myr if you add 4 Rancor

I hope this helps you with the deck.

Come to think of it, I could use some advice with a Tournament deck of mine (sorry for the advertising - just, I'M the one going into the tournament!)

But what about the rest?
You used them before..........

0
Posted 15 October 2013 at 00:55

If I use Rancor, then I don't need to worry too much and Blighted Agent is unblockable I already have all the creatures that I need and I will consider Tradgic Slip
Besides, you of all people should know that I buff AFTER they declare a state of acceptance

-1

With 12 creatures, you of all people should know that you are screwed when I burn your only creatue in response to the buffing. You REALLY should consider more.

0

It's called a Sideboard. Just saying. For burn decks, Blight Mamba could be really handy., so I swap out something like Glistener Elf (don't judge) so I can regenerate it

While I really do appreciate the various websites, I;
a) won't be able to access them, because of the security on here
b) I can't really to and search these sites for possible cards because of my limited time per day
So, when I get the chance I'll try to check them out, but until that time, I really need card names and/or abilities listed to build this deck

Gutshot. When I get around to it, I'll post my own version(s) for you to check out.

Does Gutshot really see tournament play?

-1
Posted 16 October 2013 at 02:32

Infect decks like this one really don't care about their life total. Plus, infect decks themselves don't see much tournament play. Gutshot works in tandem with Blessing to kill or get past the opponent's pesky one drop.

0

I know how little Infect sees a tournmanet. Post people I play against locally don't like infect in the slightest!
But I really just want cards that see a tournament, so I have half a chance

But I will SB it for now anyways!

and why are you so obsessed with cards that are only used in tournament play?

2
Posted 17 October 2013 at 06:47

Because I want a deck that has the potential to win a tournament
I've seen a REAL competition decks and saw that mine:
http://www.mtgvault.com/s0rinmark0v/decks/infect-deck-wins/
wasn't anywhere near the level of play that it was, so I want a tournamentdeck of my own to enter in these kinds of events

-1

but if the cards are good enough to be in an infect deck, then why does it matter if they have seen tournament play? the cards dont change as soon as theyve been used in a tournament deck.

2

True, but knowing that they've been in a tournament deck just makes me feel a little better about them though. You know? I just really need to be sure of this deck......
I do have another one though. One set on private, just in case it isn't very good.
I can open it up for a minute for you to take a look at it, if you want. Just let me know!

0

I really agree with magicmaster13 here. Just because it's not used heavily in a tournament doesn't mean it's a shit card.
For example, do you honestly think that Lightning Mauler sees much tournament play?
Yet, it can easily be the difference between a win or a loss.
Or even a simple Unsummon could confirm your win.

It's not about what cards people use in tournaments; it's how YOU find a use for (and end up using) them.

And also - I know that guy is Sir. Expect him to find quite a fair bit that you can fix. (YOU can't go in the end of year tournament, anyway. Remember?)

1
Posted 21 October 2013 at 01:12

This is not FOR the end of year tournament. This is for tournaments like the ones at Good Games. A lunch time, you ask sir to see his modern deck, the one with Bob in it.
THEN think about my infect deck.
THOSE tournaments

-1
Posted 21 October 2013 at 01:18

Who the fuck is Bob? Or WHAT the fuck?
Just want to know.

And you do need to improve on this deck a lot. Think about how well my Super Hostile deck works; 28 creatures, 10 burn spells, 22 Land. It completely smashes you!

I'm NOT saying copy my deeck, but with Infect.......... I'm saying you need more creatures, and make it an aggro deck.
It will work better that way. I'm SURE.

That is what the Sideboard is for, my brother. In most tourny infects I have seen, they use a card called Noble Heirarch. A 0/1 exalted {T}: Add {B}, {W} or {G} to your mana pool. 16 creatures, 12 are infect. The reason that I'm not jumping up and down to track one down, is that they're $35.

0

Then find others with Exalted. Isn't Duty-Bound Dead a 1-drop?

0
Posted 21 October 2013 at 01:52

Yes he is. A 0/2 exalted for a swamp. But that's the main problem. a swamp
Oh, Bob is a creature. There was a guy who won a tournament a couple of years back and his name was Bob so he helped design a card. If I remeber correctly, it is a black human from original Ravnica that has 2 power and a draw ability that you lose life for

Bob Maher. There are a few cards that were designed by Pro Players that were supposed to be a representation of themselves or something like that. Anyways his card was Dark Confidant. There are other cards from this "set" I'm not sure how else to put it. http://wiki.mtgsalvation.com/article/Magic_Invitational

That and I made a B/G version based on my original deck. Decks that you try to get the MTG public to build get about half done, if you're lucky and just forgotten about

Gitaxian, however...

I don't think that this deck needs more draw. Also, Gitaxian reveals their hand while Wraith doesn't
